Our mission is to raise sufficient endowment and annual funds to generate financial support for Sholom services and facilities; and to promote excellence in care to those served by Sholom for generations to come.

holom, where Care Comes First, means so much to so many. During a recent conversation with Knollwood Place Apartments tenant, Dalia Kaufman Katz and her daughter, Sonia Ungerman, they expressed gratitude for Sholom—a longvalued and life-changing resource for the Katz family. Dalia was adamant that she would Dalia Kaufman Katz and her daughter, Sonia Ungerman continue to live on her own. She is a strong, independent, and intelligent person who knows what is best. However, last summer, it was evident that a change was necessary. In typical “Dalia” style, she announced that Knollwood Place Apartments was the only place for her! Sholom’s broad continuum of care and many housing options and services were important to Dalia and her family; moving to Knollwood was the logical and best choice. This move continued a long relationship between Sholom and the Katz family. Today Dalia is thriving and loving life in her new home and her family continued on page 5
Knollwood Place Apartments— a community within a community
O
n a late winter afternoon, Sholom Foundation staff met with tenants of the Knollwood Place Apartments who had gathered for a committee meeting of the Tenant Council. We were curious to find out what these individuals felt about their lives at Knollwood and what makes living here so special. We asked the open-ended question and the cacophony of responses was amazing.
