A pillar of our generation, Rabbi Shraga Feivish Hager, the Kosover Rebbe, Shlita,

is intricately involved with myriad organizations and institutions. A descendent of a long line of illustrious leaders, the Rebbe follows the ways of his predecessors, with a brilliant mind and keen sensitivity beside wisdom and insight. Along with his gifts as a renowned Talmid Chacham, the Kosover Rebbe possesses powerful oratory skills and the ability to transmit Torah through riveting Shiurim and lectures. The Rebbe actively advocates for the educational success of all children, particularly those encountering difficulties in the classic yeshivah setting. His personal attention and love enables these students to establish themselves as stable and happy contributors to society.

The Kosover Rebbe’s door is open at all hours as members of the community request his council as Dayan and Posek, seeking guidance in marriage and personal issues, business matters and Halachic disputes.

The Kosover dynasty, founded by Rabbi Menachem Mendel Hager, Zatzal, has a long and illustrious history of contribution to Klal Yisrael.

The town of Kosov, as it was in Galicia, (presently in Ukraine) was a thriving center of Torah that shared the tragic fate of many communities during the Second World War. R’ Chaim Hager was the last Rebbe to preside over the city of Kosov. He was murdered by the Nazis, Hy’d, along with his entire family. R’ Yehoshua Heschl, his nephew, emerged from the ashes of Churban Europe and began the formidable task of rebuilding the dynasty in America. In 1999, following the Petirah of R’ Yehoshua Heschl, his son R’ Shraga Feivish accepted the role as his successor, the next link in the Kosover chain.

The Toronto community is fortunate to welcome the Rebbe for a long-awaited Three day visit, to take place during the week of Tuesday, January 26 through Thursday, January 28.

The Kosover Rebbe’s doors will be open throughout his visit to those who seek his council and Brachah. He will be hosted by Rabbi Yomtov Lipa Friedman, at 118 Caribou Rd. On Tuesday evening a Kabolas Punim will be held in honor of the Rebbe Shlita at the above home, at 9:30 PM The Rebbe Shlita will give Shiruim in various Kollelim and Yeshivos in the community To schedule an appointment with the Rebbe, please call Menashe Silber at 347-693-4142.

Q. I heard phones are so smart, they can run my life for me?

A. I’m not sure if it’s called “running” or “ruining”, but phones can almost “live” your life for you. See below for some things you can do (only with a good filter, of course!). 









Never lose any of your stuff: Back up all your files on Google Drive and access them from anywhere. Make sure Drive is installed and tap the + button in the bottom right. Upload your files, photos and media. You’ll be able to access them from any of your devices.

Never lose your to-dos: Create notes, lists, and reminders. Access them anytime on any of your devices. Make sure Google Keep is installed. Tap “take a note” in the bottom left. Create your list or note. Add a time or location reminder to share with your contacts.

Use your phone without lifting a finger: Make calls, set alarms, and open apps just by asking Google. Make sure you’ve enabled “OK Google” voice detection in your Google app. Ask Google to make a phone call, set an alarm or start a search just by saying phrases like, “OK Google, call home” or “OK Google, set a reminder for noon”.

Edit documents, presentations and spreadsheets on the go: Write, edit and collaborate wherever you are with the Google Docs, Sheets and Slides apps. Make sure the Google Docs app is installed. Create a new document or open an existing document. Tap the “Edit” button in the bottom right. Edit as needed.

Outsmart your commute — every day: Add your home and work address to Google Maps and get real-time traffic and transit updates. This feature uses Google Now, which is available in the Google app in Android 4.1+. Open the Google Maps app and tap the menu in the top left. Tap “your places” and add your home and work addresses to start getting automatic route updates.
