INTRODUCING “TU B’AV TOGETHER” - THE GLOBAL DAY OF TEFILLAH FOR SHIDDUCHIM INITIATIVE BY YAD L’ACHIM On Tu B’Av - Monday, August 7th, at 10:00 a.m. EST, thousands of Jews from around the world will unite in tefillah for all the singles in Klal Yisrael.

Tu B’Av has become synonymous with tefillah for Shidduchim. The gemara writes in Maseches Taanis: “There have never been such good days for Klal Yisrael like Tu B’Av and Yom Kippur."

For the second year in a row, with the blessings and encouragement of Gedolei Yisrael, Yad L’Achim is launching “Tu B’Av Together,” a global day of tefillah. A minyan of talmidei chachamim, messengers of Yad L’Achim, will be davening in Amuka, the resting place of the holy Tanna Yonasan Ben Uziel on Tu B’Av for all who submit their names to Yad L’Achim.

There is no minimum donation required to submit names for tefillah.

__________________________________________________________________ Waiting 6 Hours after Parmesan Cheese Strong tasting “hard cheeses” that have a lingering taste and leave a fatty residue in the mouth necessitate a full six-hour waiting period before consuming meat or poultry. Not all hard cheeses fall into this category. The strict halachic definition of hard cheese is restricted to cheese that has been aged for approximately six months. Some examples include Parmesan, Romano and some aged Swiss and Cheddar cheeses.

It is important to differentiate between the consumption of cheese itself and the consumption of a “tavshil of cheese”, which does not necessitate the prerequisite waiting period. A tavshil with hard cheese in its ingredients can be deemed as such only if the cheese is thoroughly mixed into a recipe and not recognizable as a separate entity. An example of this may be a cheese sauce.

On the first day of Shavuos, some have a custom to eat both dairy and meat meals one after the other. One should be careful not to consume hard cheeses such as parmesan so as not to necessitate the need to wait six hours in between meals.
