SHIVGANGA JHABUA NEWSLETTER I OCTOBER


ADVANCE TRAINING CAMP 01-09 OCTOBER 2020

Shivganga organised a nine-days Advance Training Camp in Shivganga Gurukul Dharampuri. The camp included the team which is responsible for the ground implementation of different projects of dimension - Jal, Jangal, Jameen, Janwar and Jan. The last two days saw the participation of another batch of 40 volunteers and collectively the team discussed the projects and plan formulation for next year.


PRODUCT LAUNCH BY JHABUA CRAFTS

Realising the strength of youths, Shivganga initiated skill development training and soon two social-entrepreneurial ventures came into existence in Jhabua. This month, Jhabua Crafts - the venture of Bamboo Crafts, launched hand-made Bamboo Diyas with two design variants - Mahua and Dhanush. Both received an overwhelming response from the urban populace as well as caught the attention of media bodies and social media. These diyas are handcrafted by the trainees of Bamboo Crafts Training Centre at Meghnagar.


ORGANIC FARMING CAMP & SEED DISTRIBUTION OCTOBER 2020

Jhabua Naturals organised 02 Organic Farming Training Camp in villages Thuvadara and Mohanpura. 24 farmers took training for various techniques of making organic fertilizers and insecticides. Organic seeds of vegetables were distributed to the farmers of village Bawadi Badi. Shri Vijendra Ji Amaliyar organic farming master trainer - discussed the crop planning for the coming season.


The 'Forest Rights Act' enacted by the GOI in 2006 did not COMMUNITY FOREST reach the ground. Shivaganga is awaring tribal community RIGHTS TRAINING of Jhabua on forest rights, Tribal has immense opportunity for prosperity through forests. 20 OCTOBER 2020 In this session Mr. Girish Kuber, Head of All India Tribal Rights Committee virtually interacted with 18 villagers and explained the importance of Forest rights and documentation of Biodiversity.


SWACHHA GAON, SWASTHA PARIWAR 27 OCTOBER 2020

Health is a major concern, as it is the main reason for the vicious debt cycle in Jhabua. To develop a mass movement under Women Leadership, Shivaganga has initiated the Swachh Gaon-Swastha Parivar program. Shivganga keeps on organizing Women Empowerment Camps by engaging some experts to interact with the participants. In this month's camp 60 women from 20 villages took part interacting on basic hygiene, prevention of related diseases and nutrition of the family with Kimbaly Mahakalkar - a third-year MBBS student.

'TADVI' BAITHAK OCTOBER 2020

Tadvi are traditional head of village, engaging them in overall process of development is very important for Holistic Rural Development . In continuation with Gram Samriddhi Baithak on September 20, Tadavi Baithak organised in 5 different villages in which 430 people participated. Every Tadvi shared their opinion about tribal traditions and values and how these are important in prosperity of village. They have discussed the challenges in growth of village and look for methods to overcome that.


Shivganga Team visited Vayam Sanstha, Palghar Maharashtra. In guidance of Shri Milind ji Thatte- founder of Vayam Sanstha , Warli tribes are successfully carrying EXPOSURE TRAINING out the activities of community forest rights, financial selfdependence, gram sabha, biodiversity, protection of OCTOBER 2020 nature and water conservation. The collective development of society by re-establishing and preserving the forest is the key learning of visit.


YOUTH EMPOWERMENT CAMP 26 -30 OCT 2020

Social capital generation is a fundamental process for sustainable rural development. Youth Empowerment camp plays an important role as this is the core program where youth subsequently develop as Social leader and become the agent of change. Shivganga is organising one camp every month to connect and train youth for Holistic Development of their village. In October 2020, 20 youths from 12 villages took part in the camp.


BORI BANDHAN OCTOBER 2020

Bori Bandhan Abhiyan is an important step for water conservation. This is the process to save the residual water of rain. With the infusion of traditional knowledge and technical aspect, tribal villagers constructed small dams like structures to hold the water. 185 villagers in 19 villages took part in this Abhiyan and constructed Bori Bandh structure in 5 villages. These built structures depth range from 250-650 feet to conserve water.


CORPORATE VISIT OCTOBER 2020

Madhyapradesh Tourist Department and Hunarshala Foundation team came to Jhabua for two days. They have visited village Chaggola and Kheda, which were selected for Homestay for MPTD. Pratibha Syntax company team visited Shivganga Dharampuri Ashram and water reservoir construction sites. Company representatives discussed the scope of marketing various Jhabua naturals' organic products through outlets of the company. They have also looked in pulse processing unit of Jhabua Naturals.


JHABUA VISIT OCTOBER 2020

Connecting communities is an important programme to link urban and tribal society. It provides a platform to understand the tribal society very deeply. In this series, this month Hournable collector of Jhabua visited Dharampuri Asharam and understood the Shivganga's work. Shri Shrinivas ji Kutumble from Indore chapter and NABARD officer- DDM Ratlam also visited different villages and communicated with tribal families one to one.


INAUGURATION 31 OCTOBER 2020

Today, rural India, tribal society is ready to learn innovation, to solve the problems of our village with new technology and science and to make modern technology suitable for the needs of our village. To have proper literature for supplementing this process, a new dimension has been launched by Shivganga - Gramgurukul Publications. On the auspicious occasion of Sharadotsav , virtual inauguration was done in presence of more than 100 participants across the globe.


NAVBHAGIRATH

New developments are being added to the journey of allround village development in Jhabua. In this sequence a new undertaking "Gramgurukul Prakashan" was started, which aims to become the bridge of knowledge exchange between the village and the city. The first book under this is the intellectual story of the commencement of the 'JalAndolan' running through the great Bhili tradition 'Halma' in Jhabua.
