Styling is an act done daily by each and everyone be it in interiors or food. While Fashion Styling, basically, is a way one present himself/herself to others differently & uniquely. Ones style statement is exclusive to him/her. Fashion styling is done on a different level and it handles clothing to sell a lifestyle.

a designer and it’s signature and using the styling elements brand, capture the style using white shirt as an element.

ZAC POSEN

Zac Posen is an American designer globally known for his technique in artisanal craftsmanship, anatomical construction and textile manipulation. His daywear suiting and red carpet evening wear are infused with bold sophistication, sexy feminity and distinctive glamour.

Inspired from his style of 1940’s tailoring, bardot necklines and mermaid silhouettes, here is a mix of architectural zeal with a sensual embrace of the luxurious garment.

1940s tailoring, Bardot Necklines, Ruffles & Draping, Glamorous Mermaid Gowns and Cocktail Dresses in Luxe material characterises Zac Posen.

Zac Posen has a distinctive style of exhibiting his collections. His style is flamboyant. From the use of makeup that just defines the contour of the model and opting for nude or natural look to flicked eyeliner, soft smoke eyes with slick hairs & beach waves; his style is glamorous.

He either opts for no accessories or minimalistic accessories like doctor bag or a pair of glasses with mary janes, t-strap heels, d’orsay heels or ballerina flats. The use of lightings and charcoal, leaf & peat brown backdrop makes the shoot dramatic.

VERSATILITY OF A SIDE SLIT SKIRT Study the silhouette of a garment along with restrictions in it and understand the three dimensional body type while giving it four different looks.

SIDE SLIT SKIRT

The history of the skirt can be measured in transforming silhouettes, vacillating hemlines, and a musical chairs game of materials. While sartorial sensibilities and trends are constantly shifting, today we have a gamut of skirt styles to choose from, each design pulled from the archives to serve present-day appreciation for the classic, vintage, and downright retro pieces from our past.

And now gear up for a day of errands in a sporty skirt, styled with a single side slit and a mod-again midi length.

Give that slit skirt a makeover and turn it into a dress for a casual outing with friends or when going for a brunch.

What about trying denim on skirt? Let’s do it. Twist and turn it into a broad strap square neck top and team it up with a denim short or skirt and voila! Heres your chic look ready.

Next up is folding the skirt into a half and tucking it in while creating pleats and teaming it up with a tie & knot crop top is how to get ready to sizzle.

NERD STATEMENT

Study the sub-culture, its and contemporarisation of its elements.

NERD

Nerd is not just a sub-culture but a term given to people who are seen as overly intellectual, introverted, shy, quirky and obsessive.

These people are those around us who can be seen hanging out in unpopular places occupied in non-conventional activities.

Nerds are marked by books, large framed glasses, star wars (the yoda ideologies), a pc, chess & other strategic games, rocket science and physics.

The popular Revenge of the Nerds, a 1984 film brought the definitive image of nerds into light. There were several comics, tv shows and movies talking about nerds and nerd as a subculture. However, in 2005, Entourage went to Comic-Con which gave Nerds a lookout as a subculture.

With shows like ‘The Big Bang Theory’ nerd culture is all hyped now. Many stereotypically nerdy interests, such as superhero and science fiction works, are now popular culture hits.

ESSENCE & MOODBOARD

Stereotypical nerd appearance, includes braces, buck teeth, severe acne and pants worn high at the waist. Not forgetting, the large framed glasses, accompanied by large unattractive sweaters, loafers and sneakers along with bags and books.

Layering the old school white shirt with a solid sweatshirt instead of a sweater while accentuating the look with nerdy round rim glasses.

GO FAUVE A BIT OF ART

Study an art movement and its essence, inspired from its elements, create a look.

FAUVISM

Fauvism was the first avant-garde art movement of the 20th Century. Spearheaded by a trio of young, Parisbased painters – Henri Matisse, AndrÊ Derain and Maurice de Vlaminck – it was characterised by intense, expressive, non-naturalistic colour, along with loose brushwork and simplified forms. Colour, in short, was completely set free.

Fauvism also had an influence on the fashion industry. Sonia Delaunay and her husband Robert Delaunay who was a painter, brought a great deal of colour and vibrancy to the art and fashion world. They both had a love for bold patterns and vibrant colour schemes. Her designs were popular within the French film industry, with actresses including Nancy Cunard and Gloria Swanson who loved the varied colours and bold designs which made them stand out.

Pop, complimentary and vibrant colors define fauvism.

Keeping that in mind, in attempt to contemporarise, this was the suggested look with a checked oxford blazer upon a blue top with a pencil skirt and red stockings & yellow sneakers to complete the look.

The makeup chosen was inspired from the fauvism paintings as well as it followed the blot technique well.
