Dear Alumni & Friends, Over the course of our storied history, the United States Naval Academy has always held up the Physical Mission as a pillar of the midshipman experience.

The goal of the Academy is to develop leaders who are distinguished from their peers for being mentally, morally and physically prepared to excel in the Fleet, in the Corps and in the World.

By investing critical Margin of Excellence funding in support of the Physical Mission, you are ensuring that the Naval Academy Athletic Association has the resources needed to support the USNA mission and recruit, retain and develop student-athletes.

Support for the Physical Mission and The Fund for Athletic Excellence has a direct impact on all 36 varsity programs and 15 club sports.

Thanks to your support, Navy Athletics has continued to build on its great reign of excellence, succeeding at the highest levels of competition. Our success -- 9 consecutive Patriot League Presidents’ Cup victories, 9 consecutive Army-Navy Star Series victories, numerous National Championships and Conference Championships -- this and more is a direct result of your support. Expect to Win! In partnership with the USNA Foundation and the Athletic & Scholarship Program Trustees, the Naval Academy Athletic Association development team raises private “Margin of Excellence” resources to support Physical Mission priorities at USNA. More than 95% of the NAAA’s annual budget is generated from external, non-government resources, therefore private support from alumni, parents and friends is critical to providing the Margin of Excellence through which our programs can achieve their goals and EXPECT TO WIN. THE FUND FOR ATHLETIC EXCELLENCE

The Fund for Athletic Excellence serves as an unrestricted annual fund for Navy Athletics, which provides Physical Mission support for all 36 varsity programs and 15 club sports. Support for The Fund for Athletic Excellence is critical to sustaining a winning environment for our programs and helping recruit and retain the best student-athletes and coaches.

Donations to The Fund for Athletic Excellence are made through the USNA Foundation.

Donors who make an unrestricted annual gift of $2,500 or more receive exclusive stewardship benefits in alignment with their giving level. Annual giving is calculated on a fiscal year basis (July 1 - June 30). To view our Stewardship Program Chart, please see the reverse side of this brochure.

ATHLETIC EXCELLENCE LEGACY FUND The Athletic Excellence Legacy Fund impacts Navy Athletics in perpetutity and supports AE initiatives. Gifts to support the Athletic Excellence Legacy Fund can be made through planned giving and estate gifts.

AE Legacy Fund Wall

This giving opportunity is an excellent way to permanently honor your support of Navy Athletics. OTHER AREAS OF SUPPORT SPORT-SPECIFIC INITIATIVES

Navy Athletics provides support to approved sport-specific initiatives that provide Margin of Excellence resources to the program. Each sport has an excellence fund located at the USNA Foundation that allows teams to enhance facilites, invest in student-athlete development, and assist coaches in elevating their programs. WOMEN FOR NAVY ATHLETICS

Women for Navy Athletics is an NAAA initative created to engage and strengthen the connection of female midshipmen student-athletes, alumnae, families, and friends in support of the Physical Mission. WFNA is led by a committee of alumni, friends and parents that raise Margin of Excellence resources to enhance the student-athlete expereince and to honor the history of women at the Academy and on the playing field. ATHLETIC & SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS The Athletic & Scholarship Programs Trustees (A&SP) is a division of the USNA Foundation made up of 250 trustees that encourage and support the Physical Mission at the Naval Academy. The A&SP Trustees partner with the NAAA to help raise annual unrestriced support for The Fund for Athletic Excellence, which helps meet the supplemental needs of Navy Athletics including financial support to all varsity and club programs as well as the Naval Academy Prep School in Newport, RI.
