ThecatastrophefacingthePalestinianpeopleisadefiningglobaljusticeissueofourtime. Itisn'taconflictbetweentwoequalsides.It'sanoccupationbyaimportantmilitarystate,fortifiedand supportedbytheWest,againstanimpoverished,statelessanddisplacedpeople.
Forover70times,IsraelhassubordinatedPalestinianstomethodicalmortalrightsabuses,severe demarcation,anddeadlymilitaryforce.AfourthgenerationofPalestinianchildrenarebeingbroughtupin exilecamps,inhabitualpoverty,deniedtherighttoreturntotheirfamilyhomes.OveramillionPalestinians sufferdemarcationoveraccesstopublicservices,landandemployment.Israel’ssiegeofGazahas condemnedits1.9millionoccupantstopovertyandcerebralviolence.Theconstructionoftheintolerance wall,themilitarycheckoftheJordanValley,andtheannexationofEastJerusalemarecreatingan unrecoverablerealityofendlessoccupation.
Governmentsaroundtheworld,includingtheUKgovernment,haveenabledIsraeltocarryoutthis oppression.Israel’sroughruleoverthePalestinianpeoplereliesonthesupportofcountriesandcompanies whichbackIsraelthroughpoliticsupport,tradeandinvestment.UK-groundedcompaniesvendmunitions andmilitarytechnologytoIsrael,whichitusesagainstthePalestinianpeople.WhiletheUKgovernment doesnothingtoholdIsraeltoregard,Israelcontinuestoconsolidateitscatharticrule
WesupportthePalestinianpeople’sstruggleforjusticeandtheircallforpeopleofhearttojoinBoycott, Divestmentandwarrants(BDS)juggernautstostopbusinessesandgovernmentsfromadvancingsupportto oppression,andtopresstheIsraeligovernmenttoadmirePalestiniansrightsandmisbehavewith transnationallaw
