CARLISLE FLUID TECHNOLOGIES SUCCESS STORY
Carlisle Fluid Technologies globally engineers and manufactures a wide range of premium finishing equipment brands, including DeVilbiss and Binks™, for industrial markets. Sherwin-Williams and Carlisle Fluid Technologies worked together to help a longtime Sherwin-Williams customer improve transfer efficiency of a specialized coating. CHALLENGE The customer, a maker of in-road reflective markers, relied on Sherwin-Williams’ premium UV coating to protect the markers from the harmful effects of the sun, exposure to the elements and abrasion from vehicular traffic. UV coatings can be challenging to apply, and the customer’s process produced an unacceptable amount of overspray collecting at the bottom of the spray booth. Transfer efficiency had to be improved to avoid excessive production downtime during shifts to swap out spray guns for cleaning and maintenance. Sherwin-Williams sales representative Paul Brucci, who serviced this customer for 20 years, knew just what to do.
