Hello!

I am the illustrator and creator of Sherpa Ant and I live, draw and play in New Hampshire with my husband, Erich, and daughters, Sierra and Ada. I grew up hiking in the White Mountains, not only peak-bagging but discovering the less traveled trails. When I returned home after completing my thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail in 2013, I had a vision for an art print that not only looked beautiful on the wall but helped me discover new trails. As a constant list maker, I also wanted this map to include the trails I had already hiked. After many sketches, the “Color In Hiking Trail Map” was completed.

I put everything on hold for 6 months while my husband and I hiked the Pacific Crest Trail in 2016. When I got home, inspiration to merge art and outdoor activity together was overflowing and Sherpa Ant was created.

WHY “SHERPA ANT”?

PASSIONATE

When I am not hiking mountains, I am drawing mountains. Hiking, climbing, or exploring, I understand your love for the outdoors and make products to celebrate outdoor accomplishments.

When you hike non-stop for months, your brain seems to think of everything. One day, my hiking partners and I were discussing how we felt like ants carrying everything on our backs and how Sherpa guides also carry an impressive amount of weight in order to help others climb mountains. I claimed if I ever started my own business, it would be called “Sherpa Ant.”

The brand name may have originated from thru-hiking ramblings but, the “Sherpa” name has a very deep, cultural meaning. A “Sherpa” is a member of the Himalayan people from Tibet and Nepal who are often known for their mountaineering skill. While Westerners have admired their way of life and skill in the mountains, they have also evolved the name and coined a term more broadly connecting the traditional Sherpa name to mean “someone who carries gear or guides others in the mountains.” As more people ask where the Sherpa Ant name came from, I like to make sure the history of the Sherpa culture is understood and respected.

You can order by emailing the above address with the quanity and the SKU numbers you would like to purchase. You can also find us on Faire.com and please use our direct link: SherpaAnt.Faire.com.

MINIMUM ORDER

$150 minimum for first time buyers. $100 minimum for repeat orders.

PAYMENT

We accept credit card payments prior to shipping on the first order. Repeat orders can be made by credit card or check within 30 days (Net-30). Checks returned due to insufficient funds subject the check writer to any bank fees incurred.

SHIPPING

Shipping is not included in the cost of goods and is the responsibility of the customer. Shipping will be sent via UPS or USPS unless specified otherwise.

TURN-AROUND TIME

Most card, map, and print orders ship within 1-2 weeks of placement. Apparel is printed to order and will ship within 3 weeks. If requested, partial orders can be shipped when ready.

RETURNS & CANCELLATIONS

Returns must be made in writing (email) within 7 days of delivery date quoting invoice number and reasons. No returns are acceptable without prior approval and delivery instructions for transport. Return shipping will be customer’s responsibility. If approved for return, there is a re-stocking fee of 20%.
