Project Updates Sherman Rotary Centennial Park Our latest addition to the park system, Sherman Rotary Centennial Park, is now open and ready for the community to enjoy. Situated on Hilre Dr. between Towne Center and Travis St., this neighborhood park has been made possible through the generous funding from Sherman Rotary, commemorating their remarkable 100 years of service to our community. The park boasts playground equipment, a pavilion, and a scenic walking trail. We officially celebrated the park’s grand opening on October 21, and we invite everyone to come and explore this wonderful new space.

Binkley Park Pump Track We are excited to announce that we’ve signed a contract with American Ramp Company to construct a butterfly-styled pump track on the south side of Binkley Park, located between the existing pavilion and Binkley Park Dr. Construction is slated to kick off in December, assuming favorable weather conditions. However, if weather-related delays occur, we may not see significant progress until early spring. This unique butterfly design will offer riders the chance to race on mirrored tracks, ensuring both safety and excitement. Notably, the track will feature a ramp wall, providing an extra challenge for more experienced riders.

Pecan Grove Athletic Complex Shading and Lighting We are in the final stages of enhancing the Pecan Grove Athletic Complex to better serve our community. The upcoming projects include the installation of shading structures for the playground, public stands, and dugouts, making the complex more comfortable for all. Additionally, we are introducing lighting to the baseball and softball fields, which will extend practice times and make the complex more attractive for hosting tournaments. Construction for both the shading and lighting components is scheduled to commence before the end of the year, with the aim of completing them before the start of spring ball season. We look forward to the improved facilities benefiting our local athletes and families.
