THE WARRENVILLE PARK DISTRICT Executive Director's Message

Partnerships are a key component that determine success for any organization. Here in the City of Warrenville, the Park District has many strong relationships with a wide variety of businesses and vendors that we work with on a daily basis. One of our closest partners and supporters is NorthStar Credit Union. NorthStar Credit Union has supported the Park District in a number of ways, including donating gifts to children for our Daddy Daughter and Mother Son dances, providing employee volunteers at our Firecracker 5K, and “elves” for Holly Days. Every fall they come dressed in festive costumes handing out free candy apples to everyone who attends Fall Fest. In addition, they always have a large group who help out with Summer Daze in the beer tent, provide a cash station, and have staff that volunteer to handle the banking. We are grateful to have a great relationship with NorthStar Credit Union, and we're honored to nominate them for an award at this year’s 2017 Best of the Best Awards Gala. With that being said, NorthStar Credit Union was awarded with the Best Friend of Illinois Parks – Small Business. They were recognized on October 13th in Wheeling at the Illinois Association of Park District’s Gala for the commitment and outstanding work they have done here in Warrenville. Congratulations to NorthStar Credit Union for this award, and your commitment to the community of Warrenville. We are always looking to partner with local businesses and organizations to provide the community of Warrenville and our residents the best possible recreation experience whether that is taking place in one of our many programs, special events, or simply making your trip to a local park more enjoyable. As always, if you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions, on how the Park District can better serve you, please feel free to contact me directly. I wish you a fun and healthy winter with friends, families and the Warrenville Park District.

Cabaret Ages 21+

The sound of the orchestra tuning its instruments fills the air. The smell of liquor and perfume permeates your nostrils, causing a shiver of sinful delight. It's the early 1930's in Berlin, and life is changing. On the horizon is an ugly and dangerous threat, but that's no concern for sensational cabaret singer Sally Bowles whose only goal in life is to have a good time. Sally soon finds herself living with a young writer visiting from America to work on a new novel. While their relationship moves beyond just being friends, around them the lives of citizens go from ordinary to a nightmare. Cabaret is one of the most wellknown Broadway musicals of all time, and it's because of the extraordinary songs, universal appeal and spellbinding story that still holds true in today's world. Nominated for a total of 26 Tony Awards over three decades and winning a total of 12 including Best Musical and Best Revival of a Musical, Cabaret is exactly what musical theatre should be: entertaining, enlightening, provocative, edgy and a continuing reflection of our own lives. RB Trip includes transportation and theater ticket. Lunch is on your own at Harner's Restaurant. Registration Deadline: February 10, 2018. Location: Paramount Theater at Aurora 254040-1A Sa 3/10 12:00-6:00P $42

People come into our lives for a reason. Sometimes it leaves us with joy, other times with sorrow. But it's what we do with those chance encounters that truly defines who we are. He was a singer about to give up his dream and she was a patron entranced by his music. It was fateful meeting spurred by their shared love for music. Once is based on the Oscar-winning movie and is an eight-time Tony Award-Winning musical, including Best Musical, Best Actor and Best Book. It is both big and grand in its themes of love and longing, yet simple and subtle in its execution. In today's world where we're all struggling to connect, despite a million ways to do so, sometimes the simplest way is through song. Trip includes transportation and theater ticket. Lunch is on your own at Harner's Restaurant. RB Registration Deadline: April 19 2018. Location: Paramount Theater, Aurora, IL 254002-1A Sa 5/19 12:00-5:30P $42

WARRENVILLE ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION Baseball Season Is All Year!

The WAA is a not-for-profit organization comprised of up to a 12-member all-volunteer board and is an affiliate of the Warrenville Park District. The WAA’s mission is to provide high quality youth baseball programs to Warrenville and surrounding communities. Emphasis at all levels is placed on sportsmanship, team spirit, and baseball fundamentals. It is the belief of the WAA that baseball programs serve our community by creating a place for our children to have fun, become more physically fit, learn good sportsmanship, and learn basic concepts of teamwork -- including tolerance of others -- and recognition of different skill levels. Some of our major activities throughout the year include the preseason banquet, season opener, All-Star games and the annual 4th of July Cerny Series. We also fund travel team tournaments, capital improvements, and general field maintenance via our procurement and management of Hotel/Motel Funds from the City of Warrenville.

Check refunds are approved at the Warrenville Park District board meetings held on the third Thursday of each month, unless otherwise designated. Deadline for submission is the 30th of each month.

All participants, parents, siblings, volunteers, and affiliate groups are expected to exhibit appropriate behavior at all times. The following guidelines have been developed to help make all of our programs, events, and affiliate programs safe and enjoyable for all participants. Additional rules may be developed for specific programs as deemed necessary by staff.

Trip Refund Policy Applicants need to complete a Trip Refund Form at least 24 hours in advance. Applicants may only receive a refund if they find a replacement person to occupy their place on a trip or if the Warrenville Park District has not paid trip expenses. Service charges will apply. In cases of sickness or emergency, participants will need to leave a message at 630.393.7279 x307, prior to trip departure with their name, telephone number, trip name, and reason for canceling.

Our Commitment to Quality and Service Total quality management is one of our goals. We strive to provide you with high quality recreation programming, and we take pride in making your experience with the Warrenville Park District an enjoyable one. If you are not completely satisfied with your recreation experience or any service that the park district provides, please contact us to share your concerns and suggestions for improvement. We would also like to hear what you especially like about our programs and services. Please call 630. 393.7279 to receive our Customer Feedback Form.

Errors and Adjustments While we at the Warrenville Park District try to be accurate in the information presented in our brochure, some unavoidable errors or changes to the programs, fees, schedules, and other information may occur. The Park District apologizes for any inconvenience resulting from these necessary adjustments.

Park District Risk Management Association In 1993, the Warrenville Park District became a member of the Park District Risk Management Agency (PDRMA). As a loss prevention measure, that group has asked its members to require program participants to execute a release form. The Waiver, Release and Hold Harmless Agreement is part of the registration form. Please read the form carefully, sign it and submit it when you register for any particular program. At the time of registration or at the first program session, you may be presented with a sheet describing some of the particular risk involved in that particular activity for which you have registered. If so, that additional material will become a part of the Waiver. Release and Hold Harmless Agreement. We want the registrants in our programs to be aware in advance that, when they participate in certain activities, there is a natural element of risk of injury which each participant must assume. We do not carry medical or accident insurance for program participants. The costs of that type of personal health insurance would make program fees prohibitive. Please review your own personal health insurance plan to be certain that you and your family have the proper coverage. The use of this form is one of our answers to the national liability insurance crisis, allowing us to continue to offer quality programs to the public at a reasonable cost. If you have any questions, please call 630.393.7279.

Warrenville Park District insists that all participants, parents, siblings, volunteers, and affiliate groups comply with a basic behavior code. All participants, parents, siblings, volunteers, and affiliate groups shall: 1. Show respect to all participants, staff, and volunteers. 2. Follow all program/event rules and take direction from staff. 3. Refrain from using abusive or foul language. 4. Refrain from threatening or causing bodily harm to self, other participants, or staff. 5. Refrain from harassment of any kind to other participants or staff. 6. Refrain from any type of bullying. 7. Refrain from any type of aggressive and violent behavior during park district or affiliate sponsored programs. 8. Show respect for equipment, supplies, and facilities. 9. Not possess any weapons. The Warrenville Park District expects all individuals to conduct themselves in a manner in keeping with their levels of development, maturity, and demonstrated capabilities with a proper regard for rights and welfare of other individuals, staff, volunteers, and district officials.

Discipline A positive approach will be used regarding discipline. Staff will periodically review rules with participants during the program session. If inappropriate behavior occurs, a prompt resolutions will be sought specific to each individual’s situation. Warrenville Park District reserves the right to dismiss a participant, parent or sibling, or affiliate whose behavior endangers his or her own safety or the safety of others.

SPORTS FIELD STATUS The Park District’s programs, special events, games or practices may be canceled due to severe weather. For information on facility and field closures or cancellations: • Visit our website at www.warrenvilleparks.org for the status of programs or closures. • Call the Warrenville Park District’s Sports Hotline at 393-9243.
