Table of Contents

As the summer approaches, days become longer, and temperatures begin to rise, there are a number of things to take advantage of at the Warrenville Park District. The Park District has numerous offerings for all ages and abilities whether that is a sports league or activity, summer day camp, Tuesday senior lunch, or simply pulling the kids together to enjoy one of our parks. I always enjoy talking with program participants and families who share how the park district has had an impact on their lives. We provide the pubic with an outlet and an opportunity to escape from the stresses that life brings to us on a daily basis. Recreation has always had a significant impact on my life, and I am now able to share that love of the outdoors and sports with my family. My three kids are very active, and there is nothing I enjoy more than spending a weekend out at the baseball field, or taking a bike ride with them. The fresh air, exercise, and time spent together tie in directly to the mission of the Warrenville Park District which strives to provide opportunities to enrich the Mind, Body and Spirit. The Warrenville Park District is committed to providing recreation programs and outdoor experiences that offer opportunities for growth in health, wellness, and social experiences while encouraging diversity and environmental sustainability. What a great thing to go to work each and every day and what keeps me motivated on a daily basis. The Park District has a talented team of employees with vast expertise that share in the same common goal. Take some time to flip thru the brochure and see if there is something that sparks some interest. After a long winter, take a bit more time to slow down and enjoy the scenery, catch a ballgame, or simply take your lunch out into the park and enjoy some fresh air. We have a tremendous community and have so many things to be thankful for. As always, if you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions, on how the Park District can better serve you, please feel free to contact me directly. Other services include: an indoor walking track, group exercise classes, specialty fitness classes, personal training, locker rooms, and towel service. Summer 2019 Valencia Rollins

Valencia has over 15 years of experience training clients from all walks of life. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, certified as a Holistic Life Coach and lectures for the World Instructor Training School to certify future personal trainers. With both high school and collegiate level playing basketball experience, she has the credential to train and coach players to take their skills to the next level. It is her purpose to utilize her education, background and experience as an athlete, personal trainer and life coach to educate and empower people to achieve balance, harmony and positive change in his/her life.

Daphne Briggs

Daphne graduated from Illinois State University with a B.S. in Exercise Science and is currently a Certified Personal Trainer through ACE. Being active is very important to her and she's been involved in many team sports including basketball, softball, volleyball, and kickball. Currently, she enjoys playing a variety of sports with her three children, as well as, biking, and softball. She's open and honest with her clients about what they need to do to accomplish their goals, while making it fun and challenging. She is in the process of becoming a Fitness Nutrition Specialist.

Tracey Carr

Tracey has been in the fitness industry for over 30 years. Her current passion is to educate and motivate others to be the best they can be. Tracey believes in functional fitness and has had the experience with people of all ages. Tracey’s experience in the industry brings variety and a new taste for each workout. With dozens of certifications she brings years of knowledge and experience to every session or class she teaches. Her upbeat personality and attention to detail will ensure you achieve all your fitness goals. Tracey is an educator and mentor, and a proud mother of three.

Tracey Bustin

Tracey has a love of distance running and through her running has discovered a passion for fitness and a healthy lifestyle. It’s her goal as a Personal Trainer to assist you in achieving your goals through safe, fun, and effective workouts, no matter what fitness level you are at. She also strives to help you take the discipline and creativity that you learn from your time together and apply it to your everyday lifestyle. Tracey earned her certification with World Instructor Training School and also has a level 1 coaching certification with USATF.

Personal Training Evaluation All members are encouraged to consult with our personal trainer to have their current fitness level evaluated. The test measures flexibility, muscular, and cardiovascular endurance and body composition. The results of the evaluation are used to create a program designed to meet the individual’s specific goals and needs. This program provides information about repetitions, which machines to use, time, frequency, duration, and intensity of your cardiovascular program. Periodic evaluations are recommended to monitor your progress. Sign up today with a personal trainer for your fitness evaluation. 60 minutes. Firecracker 5K & Sparkler 1 Miler All Ages The scenic 5K course incorporates the Illinois Prairie Path, Warrenville Grove Forest Preserve, and the streets of downtown Warrenville. A 50 yard dash for ages 3-6 and a 100 yard dash for ages 6-10. New this year, our Sparkler 1-Miler gets the entire family involved. Come dressed to impress. Flex Pass Information

Flex Pass is offered every 5 weeks with a guaranteed total of 30 offerings per week during various times, Monday through Sunday. The Flex Pass allows you to take any class on the group exercise schedule. Please refer to the group exercise schedule at warrenvilleparks.org or at any desk at the Warrenville Park District to see our class offerings. (Days and times of classes are subject to change based on attendance and instructor availability. There will always be a minimum of 30 offerings a week offered at any given time during a year. A class is considered a fitness offering on the group exercise schedule that is at least 30 minutes.)

FLEX PASS CLASS DESCRIPTIONS ANYTHING GOES

GENTLE STRETCH

Challenge yourself and take it to the next level with a class that lets you experience something new each week. The instructor will get the heart pumping with exciting routines that may include strength training, cardio and a variety of equipment.

Yoga poses and stretches in a chair-based class designed to increase flexibility and range of motion for active adults and light impact.

BARRE The ballet barre is your best friend during this class full of micro and isometric strength movements. Using light weights and lots of reps this class will target muscles you forgot you had!

BODY BLAST This interval class is designed to burn maximum calories while improving muscle strength and endurance. This dynamic conditioning class consists of varying functional movements designed for all fitness levels.

BOOT CAMP The only thing we can promise about Boot Camp is that it will get you sweating! Be ready for different styles of cardio and strength training intended to work your entire body.

CARDIO KICKBOXING Workout your frustrations in this high-intensity, mixed-impact workout that burns fat and relieves stress while giving you a great sense of selfconfidence. Jab, cross, hook, upper cut, kick, block and more in this dynamic, heart-pumping workout.

CIRCUIT CORE Amp up your routine with strength based circuit style class. Incorporating both strength and core workouts this workout will expose you to body weight exercises, TRX, weighted exercises, and more.

Soccer Made In America Camp Ages 4-14 The Soccer Made In America Training Camp offers professional soccer training covering technical and tactical training for 5 consecutive days 1/2 day sessions. This camp is designed to teach players proper technical skills while enjoying playing soccer. Players are divided into groups or ten or less according to ability first, and age second. Beginning players will be introduced to fundamental techniques and apply them in games. Intermediate players who have mastered basic techniques will be challenged to higher-level competition. Participants must bring their own soccer ball. Shinguards and a water bottle are recommended. Warrenville Travel Basketball Tryout Camp

Sign up now for fall soccer action! This volunteer-coached program introduces the fundamentals of playing soccer through weekly practices and an eight game schedule that emphasizes proper technique, knowledge of rules, participation, sportsmanship, and fun. Players are assigned to teams based on their grade entering in 2019-2020 school year. Players will be contacted by their coach after they have been assigned to a team. Practices will be held 1-2 times a week beginning August 26th. REQUESTS FOR TEAMS, PLAYERS, PRACTICE DAYS, AND COACHES ARE NOT GUARANTEED. Jerseys and socks are included in the registration fee. Volunteer Coaches are always welcomed! Anyone interested in coaching should contact the park district at (630) 393.7279. WARRENVILLE MUNICIPAL VAN PROGRAM Effective Jan. 1, 2013

ACORN (Access City Operated Rides Now) Warrenville’s Accessible Van Service for Senior & Disabled Citizens Warrenville offers a municipal transportation program called ACORN for its special needs residents. The Acorn Van transports disabled and senior residents (over 60) from their homes to any destination within a 5-mile radius of City Hall (28W701 Stafford Place,) including medical facilities, shopping centers, entertainment venues, and friends’ homes. The van operates Monday through Friday, from 8:00A to 4:00P, with the first pick up at 8:30A and the last pick up at 3:30P (no holidays). A charge of $3 per one-way and/or round trip within Warrenville applies. The fee is $3 per one-way trip outside of Warrenville. Applications for ridership are available at City Hall. Question or complaints should be directed to Lead Van Driver, at 630.393.1223 #7. • The van has seating for five passengers, the driver and one wheelchair (lift equipped). • Rides by appointment only (door-to-door service); 24-hour advanced reservation/registration required; call 630.393.1223, hit option #1 to make a reservation. To register, please call 630.393.9427. • Rider restrictions include Warrenville residents age 18 and older with an RTA disability card or anyone 60 and older. • Must have RTA card. (Applications for RTA cards may be picked up at Warrenville’s City Hall). The process will take 2-3 wks.

Riders must purchase a 10-ride ticket at City Hall, which will be punched each time they ride the van. Each punch is worth $3; a 10-ride ticket costs $30. Hours of operation are 8:00A to 4:00P with the first pickup of the day at 8:30A and the last pickup of the day at 3:30P No rides are provided between 11A and 12P Travel limit within a 5-mile radius from City Hall, 28W701 Stafford Place. Dogs or animals are not permitted on van unless required by disability. Smoking is not permitted on van. WARRENVILLE ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION Baseball Season Is All Year!

The WAA is a not-for-profit organization comprised of up to a 12-member all-volunteer board and is an affiliate of the Warrenville Park District. The WAA’s mission is to provide high quality youth baseball programs to Warrenville and surrounding communities. Emphasis at all levels is placed on sportsmanship, team spirit, and baseball fundamentals. It is the belief of the WAA that baseball programs serve our community by creating a place for our children to have fun, become more physically fit, learn good sportsmanship, and learn basic concepts of teamwork -- including tolerance of others -- and recognition of different skill levels. Some of our major activities throughout the year include the preseason banquet, season opener, All-Star games and the annual 4th of July Cerny Series. We also fund travel team tournaments, capital improvements, and general field maintenance via our procurement and management of Hotel/Motel Funds from the City of Warrenville.

Games are played throughout the week and continue until June. Playoffs for Pinto, Mustang, Bronco, and Pony leagues end the first week of July. You can volunteer your time for special events that support our program; please contact the WAA at volunteer@waasports.com. Registration begins January 1st; leagues fill up fast so get in early to ensure your spot. Summer 2019 Program Refund Policy

Behavior Management/Code of Conduct

A refund will be considered for the following reasons: 1. All refund requests must be received 24 hours prior to the first class. You will receive your choice of a refund or household credit if the program is canceled by the Warrenville Park District. 2. All refunds applied for are subject to a 10% or $5 minimum service charge. 3. No refunds will be given after class begins without a doctor’s certificate. Fees will be prorated starting with the day the Refund Application is received in the Park District Registration Office. The amount of the refund will be credited to your household balance and may be used to register for other programs. 4. Check refunds are approved at the Warrenville Park District board meetings held on the third Thursday of each month, unless otherwise designated. Deadline for submission is the 30th of each month.

All participants, parents, siblings, volunteers, and affiliate groups are expected to exhibit appropriate behavior at all times. The following guidelines have been developed to help make all of our programs, events, and affiliate programs safe and enjoyable for all participants. Additional rules may be developed for specific programs as deemed necessary by staff.

Trip Refund Policy Applicants need to complete a Trip Refund Form at least 24 hours in advance. Applicants may only receive a refund if they find a replacement person to occupy their place on a trip or if the Warrenville Park District has not paid trip expenses. Service charges will apply. In cases of sickness or emergency, participants will need to leave a message at 630.393.7279 x307, prior to trip departure with their name, telephone number, trip name, and reason for canceling.

Errors and Adjustments While we at the Warrenville Park District try to be accurate in the information presented in our brochure, some unavoidable errors or changes to the programs, fees, schedules, and other information may occur. The Park District apologizes for any inconvenience resulting from these necessary adjustments.

Park District Risk Management Association In 1993, the Warrenville Park District became a member of the Park District Risk Management Agency (PDRMA). As a loss prevention measure, that group has asked its members to require program participants to execute a release form. The Waiver, Release and Hold Harmless Agreement is part of the registration form. Please read the form carefully, sign it and submit it when you register for any particular program. At the time of registration or at the first program session, you may be presented with a sheet describing some of the particular risk involved in that particular activity for which you have registered. If so, that additional material will become a part of the Waiver. Release and Hold Harmless Agreement. We want the registrants in our programs to be aware in advance that, when they participate in certain activities, there is a natural element of risk of injury which each participant must assume. We do not carry medical or accident insurance for program participants. The costs of that type of personal health insurance would make program fees prohibitive. Please review your own personal health insurance plan to be certain that you and your family have the proper coverage. The use of this form is one of our answers to the national liability insurance crisis, allowing us to continue to offer quality programs to the public at a reasonable cost. Warrenville Park District insists that all participants, parents, siblings, volunteers, and affiliate groups comply with a basic behavior code. All participants, parents, siblings, volunteers, and affiliate groups shall: 1. Show respect to all participants, staff, and volunteers. 2. Follow all program/event rules and take direction from staff. 3. Refrain from using abusive or foul language. 4. Refrain from threatening or causing bodily harm to self, other participants, or staff. 5. Refrain from harassment of any kind to other participants or staff. 6. Refrain from any type of bullying. 7. Refrain from any type of aggressive and violent behavior during park district or affiliate sponsored programs. 8. Show respect for equipment, supplies, and facilities. 9. Not possess any weapons. The Warrenville Park District expects all individuals to conduct themselves in a manner in keeping with their levels of development, maturity, and demonstrated capabilities with a proper regard for rights and welfare of other individuals, staff, volunteers, and district officials.

Discipline A positive approach will be used regarding discipline. Staff will periodically review rules with participants during the program session. If inappropriate behavior occurs, a prompt resolutions will be sought specific to each individual’s situation. Warrenville Park District reserves the right to dismiss a participant, parent or sibling, or affiliate whose behavior endangers his or her own safety or the safety of others.

Summer 2019 Waiver Required For insurance purposes, participation in Warrenville Park District programs and activities requires a signed waiver. Please sign the waiver section of the registration form. By applying to participate in these recreation programs, each resident/non-resident realizes the inherent risks involved in the program and appreciates the nature of these risks. The applicant holds the park district harmless for any damage caused by participation in these programs. The park district provides no medical insurance. Medical Information Please provide us with any medical information about the participant when you register. If you or your child have any medical allergies, special needs, or anything we need to know to make your experience safe and pleasant, please provide us with your complete information at time of registration. Medical forms may be required for some programs or classes.

Non-Resident Fee Policy The Warrenville Park District resident via property taxes contributes to the operation of the park district. A copy of a map showing the park district boundaries is available for review at the Park District Recreation Center. Non-residents of the Warrenville Park District will be required to pay an additional fee per program. This is a flat rate per program and will be added onto the regular program fee at time of registration. Active Older Adult Programs and Trips do not have a non-resident fee charge. Programs offered on Community Unit School District #200 property are available to residents of the respective school district at resident rates.

Photography Guidelines Periodically, photographs and videos are taken of participants during programs, special events, trips or at the parks. These photographs may be used for park district publications and/or newspapers. Please note that we do not identify the people in the photographs. Patrons may be asked to sign a photo release form in certain instances.
