Executive Director's Message Studies have shown a variety of increased benefits of exercise both outdoor and indoor for all ages. There is compelling evidence that outdoor exercise improves psychological and physiological health, disease prevention, improved adherence to regular exercise, decreased tension and depression, increased energy, greater satisfaction levels, and access to green environments. We are fortunate to have the Prairie Path running through Warrenville, but did you also know that there are paths you can walk at Summerlakes Park or an indoor track at the Warrenville Park District? Our FitnessNOW Center is a great indoor place where you can come to exercise, feel like you’re among friends and not pay high prices for great equipment and a comfortable atmosphere. Early in 2020, right before the pandemic took place the Park District completed a renovation of our fitness center which expanded the footprint of the facility, and purchased new functional training equipment along with other cardio and strength training equipment. Over the past year and a half, we have received tremendous feedback and it is great to see the facility back up and running at 100%. If you haven’t had a chance to stop by and see us recently, please feel free to take a look next time you are in the neighborhood. Are you taking advantage of a workout facility? Do you know we offer a wide variety of services, including: • Group exercise classes are offered both in-person and virtually to motivate you and invite you “make an appointment to exercise.” And, they’re fun! • Personal trainers who will train with you (or you and a partner) so that you learn proper technique and form, you understand how to set realistic goals and achieve them, and you are motivated to become (or stay) fit. • State-of-the-art equipment that allows you to challenge yourself and efficiently work toward your fitness goals. • Indoor walk/run track for those rainy days. • Knowledgeable and professional staff who answer your questions and make sure you know how to use the equipment safely. • A small-town, friendly atmosphere where you feel comfortable and supported no matter what your fitness level. As always, if you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions on how the Park District can better serve you, please feel free to contact me directly. I wish you a fun and healthy Fall with friends, family and the Warrenville Park District. - Tim Reinbold - CPRP – Executive Director

Thank you 2021 Firecracker 5K Sponsors!

Personal training has changed my life both physically and mentally. 1 ½ years ago I started working out twice a week with Katie. When I started, I could barely do a mile on the bike and was very limited in lifting weights. I will never forget the 1st day after my work out I could not move without pain, but oddly if felt great! I knew I had accomplished something. With Katie’s help I became confident and strong. I am now 90 pounds lighter and am so grateful for all her support, both physically and mentally. - Denise K. I come for the classes and stay for the camaraderie. - Sue N. This is a great neighborhood gym. It has a good variety of equipment which is well maintained. As a relatively new member, I have been made to feel at-home by the friendly staff and knowledgeable trainers. The atmosphere is welcoming and conducive to having a great workout. - Roger B.

Kinky Boots Ages 21+ This flashy, sassy, sexy story of big heels invading a small town shook Broadway and was universally adored by critics and audiences. Now it's Paramount's turn to try these shoes on for size. Charlie Price is a reluctant show maker. Lola is a fierce drag queen. These two could not be any more different, but when they find common ground in shoes, they see a whole new world of possibilities open up to them that will turn their small town upside down, and just might save Charlie's failing shoe factory. With a Tony Award-winning score by Grammy Award winner Cyndi Lauper and a book by Harvey Fierstein (Tony Award-winning star of Broadway's Hairspray) Kinky Boots tears up the stage and never let's go with songs you'll be humming for days. Errors and Adjustments While we at the Warrenville Park District try to be accurate in the information presented in our brochure, some unavoidable errors or changes to the programs, fees, schedules, and other information may occur. The Park District apologizes for any inconvenience resulting from these necessary adjustments.

Park District Risk Management Association In 1993, the Warrenville Park District became a member of the Park District Risk Management Agency (PDRMA). As a loss prevention measure, that group has asked its members to require program participants to execute a release form. The Waiver, Release and Hold Harmless Agreement is part of the registration form. Please read the form carefully, sign it and submit it when you register for any particular program. At the time of registration or at the first program session, you may be presented with a sheet describing some of the particular risk involved in that particular activity for which you have registered. If so, that additional material will become a part of the Waiver. Release and Hold Harmless Agreement. We want the registrants in our programs to be aware in advance that, when they participate in certain activities, there is a natural element of risk of injury which each participant must assume. We do not carry medical or accident insurance for program participants. The costs of that type of personal health insurance would make program fees prohibitive. Please review your own personal health insurance plan to be certain that you and your family have the proper coverage. The use of this form is one of our answers to the national liability insurance crisis, allowing us to continue to offer quality programs to the public at a reasonable cost. If you have any questions, please call 630.393.7279.

6. Refrain from any type of bullying. 7. Refrain from any type of aggressive and violent behavior during park district or affiliate sponsored programs. 8. Show respect for equipment, supplies, and facilities.

The Warrenville Park District expects all individuals to conduct themselves in a manner in keeping with their levels of development, maturity, and demonstrated capabilities with a proper regard for rights and welfare of other individuals, staff, volunteers, and district officials.

Discipline A positive approach will be used regarding discipline. Staff will periodically review rules with participants during the program session. If inappropriate behavior occurs, a prompt resolutions will be sought specific to each individual’s situation. Warrenville Park District reserves the right to dismiss a participant, parent or sibling, or affiliate whose behavior endangers his or her own safety or the safety of others.
