Executive Director's Message
On behalf of the Warrenville Park District, I am thrilled to share that Phase 1 of the Cerny Park OSLAD (Open Space Land Acquisition and Development) project, funded through the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, has been successfully completed!
This project has been a collaborative effort between the Park District and the City of Warrenville, working together to breathe new life into one of our community’s true gems — Cerny Park. Through this partnership, we have made several exciting improvements that enhance recreation, accessibility, and enjoyment for residents of all ages.
Among the upgrades completed in Phase 1 are:
• The addition of two new outdoor pickleball courts
• A resurfaced and color-coated basketball court
• A new roof and concrete pad for the park shelter, along with other structural improvements
• One of the small rotundas has been re-roofed and new concrete pad installed along with fresh coat of paint
• A brand-new playground featuring fully accessible surfacing, ensuring that children of all abilities can safely play and explore
These enhancements represent our continued commitment to providing high-quality recreational spaces that reflect the spirit and needs of our community. We look forward to seeing Cerny Park filled with families, friends, and neighbors enjoying the new amenities for years to come.
We sincerely thank the City of Warrenville, the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, and our dedicated community for their support and enthusiasm throughout this process. Together, we have strengthened the heart of our community.
As always, if you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions on how the Park District can better serve you, please feel free to contact me directly. I wish you a fun and healthy Winter/Spring with friends, families and the Warrenville Park District.

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT - BRADY DENIO:
I first started coaching when my oldest son, Jameson, entered kindergarten. From that season on, I coached him in soccer twice a year through 6th grade. I then had the privilege of coaching my middle child, Piper, in soccer from kindergarten through 2nd grade, and now I’m coaching my youngest, Cal, in kindergarten and 1st grade. Along the way, I also coached basketball for four years. Altogether, I’ve had the opportunity to lead around 20 different teams over the past nine years.
Growing up, my father coached me in basketball and football, and those experiences left a lasting impact because my parents have been such a great role model for me. I wanted to give that same gift to my own children - an opportunity to learn, grow, push themselves to be better and have fun through sports. Coaching was also a way to strengthen my relationship with my kids, while at the same time building connections within the Warrenville community. When I asked my children if they wanted me to coach, they always said yes, which made it even more special because they wanted and enjoyed that time with me.
What I enjoy most about volunteering is seeing the joy on kids’ faces when they step on the field or court, knowing they’re having fun, making friends, and wanting to come back year after year. Wins and losses don’t matter nearly as much as creating an environment where kids feel supported, encouraged, and excited to play. It’s worth it, when years later we run into each other at Warrenville events, and they remember how much fun they had on my teams.
Since moving to Warrenville 11 years ago, coaching has helped me form some of my closest friendships with other families in the community because I coached their kids. Sports truly have a way of bringing people together, and I’m grateful to be part of that. I still have a long way to go with Cal because she just asked me to coach her bitty basketball team this winter. Let the good times roll!”
Community Engagement
Hey Teens! Let’s create a space where teens can thrive together.

The goal of the program is to provide a safe welcoming space for teens to have recreational opportunities as well as social and emotional support.
Together
we CAN make a difference!
The Community Advisory Network will be focused on engaging the community to gain feedback and listen to community suggestions with collaborative participation. South Pacific Ages 21+
If you don’t have a dream, how are you gonna have a dream come true? Set in a tropical paradise with warm sea breezes, breathless sunsets and B-29 Bombers. South Pacific is an uplifting musical tale that follows World War II Armed Services personnel, Ensign Nellie Forbush and Lt. Joseph Cable through spy missions, war-time drama and romance. Balancing duties to their country with their island expectations, they each find themselves irresistibly falling in love on foreign soil. But will that love to translate back in the States? South Pacific is an iconic, complex and important piece of musical theater reminding us all of the importance of celebrating cultural differences and the value of people unlike ourselves. Our Commitment to Quality and Service
Total quality management is one of our goals. We strive to provide you with high quality recreation programming, and we take pride in making your experience with the Warrenville Park District an enjoyable one. If you are not completely satisfied with your recreation experience or any service that the park district provides, please contact us to share your concerns and suggestions for improvement. We would also like to hear what you especially like about our programs and services. Please call 630.393.7279 to receive our Customer Feedback Form.
Errors and Adjustments
While we at the Warrenville Park District try to be accurate in the information presented in our brochure, some unavoidable errors or changes to the programs, fees, schedules, and other information may occur. The Park District apologizes for any inconvenience resulting from these necessary adjustments.
Park District Risk Management Association
In 1993, the Warrenville Park District became a member of the Park District Risk Management Agency (PDRMA). As a loss prevention measure, that group has asked its members to require program participants to execute a release form. The Waiver, Release and Hold Harmless Agreement is part of the registration form. Please read the form carefully, sign it and submit it when you register for any particular program. At the time of registration or at the first program session, you may be presented with a sheet describing some of the particular risk involved in that particular activity for which you have registered. If so, that additional material will become a part of the Waiver. Release and Hold Harmless Agreement. We want the registrants in our programs to be aware in advance that, when they participate in certain activities, there is a natural element of risk of injury which each participant must assume. We do not carry medical or accident insurance for program participants. The costs of that type of personal health insurance would make program fees prohibitive. Please review your own personal health insurance plan to be certain that you and your family have the proper coverage. The use of this form is one of our answers to the national liability insurance crisis, allowing us to continue to offer quality programs to the public at a reasonable cost. If you have any questions, please call 630.393.7279.
General Information

3. Refrain from using abusive or foul language.
4. Refrain from threatening or causing bodily harm to self, other participants, or staff.

If inappropriate behavior occurs, a prompt resolutions will be sought specific to each individual’s situation. Warrenville Park District reserves the right to dismiss a participant, parent or sibling, or affiliate whose behavior endangers his or her own safety or the safety of others.
Inclusion services are designed to provide the least restrictive environment while providing the maximum opportunity to participate in regular park district programs. There is no charge for Western DuPage Special Recreation Association’s (WDSRA) support. To register for services, simply indicate that special accommodations are needed on the park district registration form. Twoweek advance notice is requested for inclusion support.
Pitch to the Pros!
Is there a particular class you have been looking for? Is there something new your kids or you would like to participate in? The staff will consider all submission, however, pitching an idea does not guarantee the program will be created. Send your ideas to Matt Odom, Superintendent of Recreation, at matto@warrenvilleparks.org. Come check out the Warrenville Park District recycle station open during office hours in the Lower Level Entry. We are currently accepting Eyeglasses, Ink Jet Toner Cartridges, and plastic bottles. Send us your programs, ideas and events to share by emailing michelles@warrenvilleparks.org. The Warrenville Park District staff is always looking for new and exciting program ideas.
