Executive Director's Message

In January at the Illinois Parks and Recreation Conference in Chicago, the Warrenville Park District received the Illinois Distinguished Accreditation Award from the Illinois Association of Park Districts (IAPD) and the Illinois Park and Recreation Association (IPRA).

This award demonstrates the Park District’s commitment to sound management practices while providing high-quality park and recreation services to our community. The year-long process involved a comprehensive review of the District’s policies, procedures, and best practices in the areas of Legal, General Management, Finance and Business Operations, Facilities and Parks, Personnel, and Recreation Services.

This achievement would not have been possible without the dedication and commitment of our Board of Commissioners and the entire Park District team. I would also like to extend my sincere thanks to our community for your continued support and feedback, which were integral to this process.

I am proud to share that we passed with an outstanding score of 96%, marking the third time we have achieved this distinguished status since first earning accreditation in 2014. The evaluation was completed by a committee that spent a full day in Warrenville reviewing our compliance materials and touring our parks and facilities. This five-year accreditation extends our status through 2031.

The Warrenville Park District is one of only 49 agencies in the State of Illinois to hold this prestigious accreditation, out of more than 360 park and recreation agencies statewide. I am incredibly proud and grateful to serve the Warrenville community and to provide exceptional programs, parks, and services that positively impact our residents.

As always, if you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions about how the Park District can better serve you, please feel free to contact me directly. I wish you a fun, safe, and healthy summer with friends, family, and the Warrenville Park District.

As a Sponsor

WHERE DO YOU WANT YOUR BUSINESS TO BE SEEN? A sponsorship package with the Warrenville Park District is an affordable and effective way to bring exposure of your products and services to the community in a cooperative way. A sponsorship offers your business the opportunity to give back to the community and at the same time highlights your business with a select market. We are happy to work with you to create a package that promotes your business and shows your support in the community. For more information, contact Sheri Potter, Superintendent of Recreation at sherip@warrenvilleparks.org.

As a Volunteer JOIN THE TEAM OF VIPS – VOLUNTEERS IN PARKS, who contribute their time, energy and enthusiasm to the Warrenville Park District. We offer an assortment of volunteer opportunities that can get you involved in the community while giving you a rewarding experience. See the inside back cover for upcoming volunteer opportunities.

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT - JOE ESTES: Joe has been volunteering with the Warrenville Park District for the past seven years, stepping up when teams needed an assistant or head coach — even if he jokes that he was “VolunTold” rather than volunteering! What keeps him coming back season after season is watching the kids grow and improve from the first practice to the final game. He especially values the extra time he gets to spend with his family along the way. And while the sport may change, one thing stays the same: running ladders at the end of practice. From the initial groans to the exhausted smiles, Joe says those moments are the highlight of his week.

Our Commitment to Quality and Service

Total quality management is one of our goals. We strive to provide you with high quality recreation programming, and we take pride in making your experience with the Warrenville Park District an enjoyable one. If you are not completely satisfied with your recreation experience or any service that the park district provides, please contact us to share your concerns and suggestions for improvement. We would also like to hear what you especially like about our programs and services. Please call 630.393.7279 to receive our Customer Feedback Form.

Errors and Adjustments

While we at the Warrenville Park District try to be accurate in the information presented in our brochure, some unavoidable errors or changes to the programs, fees, schedules, and other information may occur. The Park District apologizes for any inconvenience resulting from these necessary adjustments.

Park District Risk Management Association

In 1993, the Warrenville Park District became a member of the Park District Risk Management Agency (PDRMA). As a loss prevention measure, that group has asked its members to require program participants to execute a release form. The Waiver, Release and Hold Harmless Agreement is part of the registration form. Please read the form carefully, sign it and submit it when you register for any particular program. At the time of registration or at the first program session, you may be presented with a sheet describing some of the particular risk involved in that particular activity for which you have registered. If so, that additional material will become a part of the Waiver. Release and Hold Harmless Agreement. We want the registrants in our programs to be aware in advance that, when they participate in certain activities, there is a natural element of risk of injury which each participant must assume. We do not carry medical or accident insurance for program participants. The costs of that type of personal health insurance would make program fees prohibitive. Please review your own personal health insurance plan to be certain that you and your family have the proper coverage. The use of this form is one of our answers to the national liability insurance crisis, allowing us to continue to offer quality programs to the public at a reasonable cost. If you have any questions, please call 630.393.7279.
