All Dance Classes are held in the Warrenville Community Building Studio except for those marked with an *, which are held in the Warrenville Community Building Activity Room. Classes will not meet the week of District #200 Spring Break March 27 thru April 1. Fee includes professional classroom instructor, show costume, tights, music fees, and choreography (except for Animated Adventures, Jumps & Turns Intensive, and Tiny Toes). Tiny Toes (No Show) Age 2

Tiny Toes is the perfect first class for introducing your little one to classroom learning and socialization. Children who exhibit reaction to music will enjoy expressing themselves by learning rudimentary ballet positions and steps as they develop listening skills, motor skills, balance and co-ordination through creative movement with props like bells, scarves, and flowers, to a fun array of childhood songs and music. This introductory class teaches beginning ballet along with development of listening skills, coordination control and discipline. Creative movements and dancing to musical rhythms are introduced in this fun class. Scarves, flowers and many more accessories add to the fun and creativity. Ballet/Tap

This introductory class for the first-time dancer, will teach good posture, body awareness, and control as the dancer learns basic ballet position and movement. Recognizing and demonstrating first and second position, plie, releve and tendu, and bouree turn are featured goals along with saut jumps in first position and echappe (first and second position). Class may be combined with tap or jazz dance to give a taste of other dance styles while still training strength, rhythm and musicality. Ballet

Dancers will now focus on more detailed movement, practicing moves standing sideways to barre and across the floor. All basic terminology will be reviewed and used as the dancer focuses on presentation of their movement. Dancers will begin to explore various turning skills and more intricate choreography. Hip Hop/Jazz

This class is an introduction to the world of hip hop, which has its roots in jazz dance having grown from an energetic street form of jazz. Like jazz, class will start with warm-ups, stretching and isolation movement before learning travelling steps and choreography. Hip Hop/Poms

This dance program will focus on technique and performance choreography for both poms and hip hop. Hip hop is an energetic street form of jazz dance culturally developed in the 1980’s comprising of rhythmic springing, flexibility, and body articulation. This class will learn routines with poms combined with hip hop dance. Poms will be provided by the Park District.
