A Miracle I remember sitting in a Sheridan House Board of Directors meeting, years ago, when Tom Taggart made the outlandish suggestion that we ask the State
of Florida for our own specialty license plate. I sat there quietly listening to Board members discuss what we could call it. I didn’t say what I was thinking. “Impossible”, is what I was thinking. “Really! Sheridan House can have its own tag?” Fortunately, Bill Stalions wasn’t thinking that. Bill knew, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (Matt 19:26 ESV) Two years later Tallahassee gave Sheridan House its own license plate with our logo in the middle and the name we requested, “Family Values”. A miracle! But, it’s even bigger than that. As people see the plate on cars and look us up online, it has pointed countless people to Sheridan House for help with their family. The license plate also gives Sheridan House another avenue of resources for the children’s homes.
Currently 2,000 plates are out on the road. Thank you! The goal is 10,000. When there are 10,000 plates on Florida’s highways, the Family Values license plate will completely fund one of our children’s homes. This is more than a worthy goal. This is part of the answer for today’s problems. Helping teens go from potential drop-outs to tomorrow’s leaders. Yes it takes a little effort to make the change. But your effort will be an incredible investment in tomorrow. America will never be changed by the White House, but it can be changed by our houses.

The Family Values License Plate for Sheridan House seemed incredibly impossible. Bringing America back seems even more impossible. We need to remember “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” And then we need to do our little part.

How do you get Tagged?...
It’s simple. You can get a specialty tag for the first time; switch your current tag; switch outside of your registration period (fee will be prorated); or choose to change during your annual registration renewal. All you have to do is go to your local Florida Tag Agency www.flhsmv.gov/locations or visit www.familyvaluestag.com to order online.

The Cost of Giving... The annual use fee for the Family Values plate is $25. This is the amount Sheridan House receives when you pay for your tag each year. There are some one time fees when you first switch to the Family Values Tag. The additional costs are all state, county, mailing and convenience fees. The state charges a $28 ‘new plate’ fee each time someone switches to a new plate, whether it is a specialty plate or standard plate. In addition, the state charges a $5 fee for “Specialty License Plate Processing Fees’, each time you purchase or renew a specialty license plate. In addition to the $33.00, the state and county charges $10.50 for various fees incorporated into the registration of a new tag, regardless of whether you are renewing your annual registration. Once you have
switched to the Family Values Tag, your annual renewal will be $25 for Sheridan House, plus the $5 specialty license plate processing fee.
