WHO GETS HELP?
Sheridan House exists because families matter. They matter to God and they matter to us. That’s why we provide Answers for Today’s Family through our various ministries. In each ministry we are honoring Christ by serving the needs of children and families. As we encourage, equip, and educate families with God’s plan on how to navigate life successfully, we hope to strengthen families, the community, and the kingdom of God.

Single Parent Ministry
The Sheridan House Residential Program is designed to intervene in the life of a family before dysfunctional behavior becomes a habitual lifestyle. Our chief objective is to provide a caring environment in which the children develop essential life skills, accept responsibility for their behavior at home and school, and enter back into their home with parents equipped to care for them. Our deepest hope is that during this process each family member will come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, and experience the personal love that God the Father has for each of them.
Our two counseling centers serve over 5,010 families and individuals annually by providing confidential and professional counseling services. Our Licensed Mental Health Counselors are on a mission to help people break through and break free by using their extensive training, and a biblical world view. Need counseling? Call us today, 954-880-9595. We offer a sliding scale fee to all who qualify through a simple application.
The Single Parent Ministry is in place for the purpose of coming alongside area churches to assist single mothers. Our mission is to equip them with the knowledge and training necessary to fulfill God’s plan for their lives. We host “Side-by-Side” training classes and special events (Back-to-School, Thanksgiving Blessings, and Christmas Toy Shoppe), through which we offer a “hand up” rather than a “hand out”. We assist up to 568 single moms and their children monthly, and are committed to helping them whether the need is physical, spiritual, emotional, or financial. We want single parents to grow in their knowledge of God, live by His great and precious promises, and know the extent of Jesus’ love and care for them.

As we end 2015, the opportunity before us is huge. The number of children and families WE are helping is amazing … and there are still more that need assistance. When I say WE, it’s not just a reference to the people who work at Sheridan House, it is all the people who help Sheridan House help others. The children on the cover of this Family Advocate could have potentially become tomorrow’s problem; but now, thanks to what God is doing in their lives, they are becoming tomorrow’s leaders.
