No More Waiting For years Sheridan House “almost” sat waiting to help families after they had a family problem. After the divorce or after a child completely out of control, we were like a hospital, waiting to help repair the damage. Then we woke up. Actually God woke us up! In 1982 I drove to Miami to ask a Christian radio station (at that time it was WMCU), if I could do a commercial for our upcoming golf tournament. After numerous takes until I got it right, the station manager asked me to sit in the radio booth and answer a few parenting questions. I had no idea he was recording. Unbeknown to me it was an audition. More than thirty years later that weekly broadcast has turned into a daily broadcast, daily podcast, and daily blog on parenting that is heard across the country as well as in other countries. It is also an online encyclopedia with parenting topics called Parenting On Purpose. POP (as it is referred to) even has its own app that can be downloaded onto Apple and Android devices. There is no job more important than parenting. It will have a greater impact on the future of our culture and nation than anything else we will ever do. It has been said, “America will never be changed by the White House. It can and must be changed by your house and my house.” POP is here to help parents train their children to love God and then give them the discipline and skills to follow God. We aren’t waiting anymore. Sheridan House is questing to be out front, helping parents train the next generation.
