s Cutler er in Year 2

Hello, my name is Miss Cutler and I am really looking forward to being your teacher next year!

I am so excited for us all to get to know each other, so I thought I would start by telling you a little bit about myself…

I have taught at Sherfield School for five years now and have enjoyed every second of it! I have always lived locally to Sherfield but, before I started my teaching journey, I decided to take another journey…A big journey around the world, for nearly two years! I love travelling and exploring and I can’t wait to share some exciting stories with you all, and maybe hear some of your stories too?

I also love the beach, where I like to surf! I also enjoy heading out on the mountain bike to do lots of exciting rides. I can’t wait to hear about some of the hobbies and interests that you all have!

I am so looking forward to the beginning of our journey together, I have heard such amazing things about you all already. I can’t wait to have lots of learning and fun together! See you all soon!

Miss Cutler ☺

I hope this booklet will help you to get to know Year 2. If you have any questions, you can email me on h.cutler@sherfieldschool.co.uk

Meet Mrs Maycock Teacher in Year 1 and Year 2

My name is Mrs Heather Maycock and I am so excited to be teaching in Year 1 and 2 again in September!

This is my second year teaching at Sherfield School but I have been teaching for 14 years, in schools in and around Basingstoke. I’ve loved becoming part of the Sherfield School community this year, it is a very special place to be!

I completed my undergraduate degree in English Language and Communication Studies at Cardiff University before I did a PGCE at Winchester University and qualified as a teacher in 2011.

I love teaching and how every day is different! In my last 3 schools I worked as both English Lead and Curriculum Lead; teaching phonics, reading and writing is my favourite!

When I’m not at school, I’m kept busy at home with my 3 beautiful, busy boys who are aged 5, 7 and 8. My husband is a guitar teacher and musician so our house is never quiet!

I enjoy music, cooking and am never without a book to read or listen to. We love to explore and adventure whenever we get the chance, both locally and further afield.

I feel so lucky to be working across both Year 1 and 2 and getting to know and teach so many wonderful children! Next year we will have so much fun exploring new topics, embarking on creative adventures and watching the children grow and thrive together.

I look forward to seeing you all in September!

Mrs Heather Maycock
