1.Shafaat, being a 4th generation entrepreneur, how have the lessons of the past shaped your vision for the future?

3. Shafaat, you have an uncanny ability to assess any founder's or venture's potential instantly. What do you look for in a deal or a founder?

The fundamentals of business always remain constant and they require consistent calibration ahead of time. The moment continuous innovation, creativity, communication and improvement halts, the heartbeat of any business stops. My vision has a central theme, which is never to break hearts and always join them, be it my partners, customers, stakeholders, vendors or competitors. The magnetic force which joins them has to be love, a brand everyone loves and the success everyone desires.

I split the weightage given to the business idea and founder equally. Within a business idea I evaluate demand, urgency, innovation, efficiency, brand marketing, strategy to scale and how independent is the product from the power of suppliers, buyers and competition.

When evaluating a founder, I always look for strong values, ethics, integrity, honesty, emotional intelligence, creativity, presentation skills, humility and learning aptitude. At the end, it’s not about the deal on the table but how the deal is executed.

2. Amna, raising 5 children and leading 14 offices is no small feat.

What’s the secret?

Motherhood is the secret sauce! Motherhood taught me some hard truths: embrace full responsibility with no turning back, teach and train but don’t expect overnight maturity whether its teens or teams, do your best and have faith that it will all turn out good at an unknown point in the future, and last but not the least patience, patience, patience.

4. Amna, you talk about systems a lot.

Why is a system more crucial than a plan, and how do you ensure it's foolproof?

You said the magic word! ‘Foolproof’. In my dictionary that is a synonym to perfection or zero risk – It does not exist. We can keep on planning to take out all risk while convincing ourselves for guarantees and KPIs, or we can roll up our sleeves and adopt a system that has worked in business, tweaking

on the go. Project too grand? break down the task into manageable sub-tasks and apply your system on that. I do spend a fraction of my time in what I call ‘feeding my innovation FOMO’. I love learning how successful ventures have innovated/scaled and what was their team structure like, how did they bootstrap and their GTM. The idea is not to reinvent the wheel but continuously figure out how this wheel can run more efficiently.

A brand is actually a beautiful balance of a magnetic pull and a subtle push but prior to this comes a solid foundation, the composition of the brand itself.

What's the one piece of advice you find yourself giving again and again?

Focus on delivering real value wrapped in emotions, the brand will sell profitably. If a business is not profitable in 3 to 4 years of operations, its not investable. I advise founders to build a life-long learner mindset and understand the cycle of markets. If you are not obsessively in love with your customer, soon you will embrace failure. Small innovations or strategy adjustments make a huge difference just like completing small tasks help you to achieve the bigger vision.

Always position yourself as a contributor to the universe

and community, do not become a liability. Pursue excellence, so your reputation precedes your name. Business is all about building credibility and dependability.

9. Shafaat and Amna, how do your individual strengths complement each other, and how has this synergy led to your combined success?

SH: We leverage each others’ perspectives and respect each others' wisdom, intelligence, logic and emotions. Frankly, it takes courage and strength to always keep a united front on the outside and every evening untangle it to start our next morning with a fresh, crisp, positive canvas.

AR: Many of my strengths were unknown to me before I met Shafaat. Him and I are equal partners in many ventures but he will forever be the mentor, teacher and the genius who cracked my code. To really grow at a fast pace you need the right environment, support and encouragement and I got all that in this partnership.

Clearly Shafaat Hashmi and Amna Razzaq stand as beacons of calculated risk, giving first mantra and visionary leadership. CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT YOUR ROLE AS THE CEO OF ITBA AND THE ORGANIZATION'S MISSION AND GOALS? As the CEO of ITBA, my primary responsibility is to lead and oversee the formulation, execution, and development of strategies for the Imam Turki Bin Abdullah Royal Reserve. Our mission is to protect the environment, biodiversity, plant cover, and cultural heritage of this magnificent reserve.

We also aim to promote eco-tourism and involve the local community in economic, cultural, and environmental activities. Our ultimate goal is to transform this reserve into a global ecotourism destination while preserving its natural beauty and heritage.

WITH YOUR DIVERSE BACKGROUND, INCLUDING EXPERIENCE IN GOVERNMENT CONSULTING AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT, HOW HAS

YOUR JOURNEY PREPARED YOU FOR YOUR CURRENT ROLE AT ITBA? My journey has been a series of learning experiences, each contributing to my growth and readiness for my current role. My time in government consulting at Ernst & Young honed my skills in process reengineering, which has been invaluable in my current role.

Additionally, my project management experience at Advanced Electronics Company instilled discipline and efficiency in managing complex projects.

These experiences collectively prepared me to lead ITBA effectively.

COULD YOU SHARE SOME OF THE KEY INITIATIVES AND PROJECTS THAT ITBA IS CURRENTLY UNDERTAKING TO ACHIEVE ITS VISION AND MISSION? ITBA is actively working towards its vision of becoming a global reserve and ecotourism destination while preserving its rich heritage and natural beauty. We are focused on protecting the environment, biodiversity, and cultural landmarks within the reserve.

MANAGING HUMAN CAPITAL TEAMS IN LUXURY

Luxury companies’ employees require specific abilities. In luxury, the human touch is everywhere. It is always people who make a luxury brand. They need, in addition to high professionalism, talent, creativity, sensitivity and attitude for detail in luxury. Succeeding in luxury requires both a highly creative and imaginative as well as rigorous approach. However, performance, enthusiasm, and dedication of one single person or a couple of people is not enough. It is only through the efforts of forming a team, the members of which complement each other. In other words, a luxury company requires totally dedicated and responsible teamwork.

Luxury is extremely creative and refined. This is particularly required at the level of production and communication. A luxury team consists of a variety of employees who should have a correct attitude.

The team should have at least one creative person. You cannot expect everyone in the team to be creative, but you should ensure that there is at least one creative mind. If it is the case that everyone is creative and behaves creatively, it is already the wrong team.

The creative mind should know the brand’s value, its promise, the expectations of its loyal and potential customers, the economic

value of the product, its nature such as presentability, beauty and fine details while creating. And this is not enough; the product must sell, too.

While creating luxury goods, other than the creative mind, the rest of the employees who contribute to the production should be experienced and refined with a correct attitude.

This is a rare resource, and this group of employees should be made loyal to the company. It takes a lot of time to train and develop such a group of employees. As such, retention efforts are crucial for consistency and sustaining quality and originality.

To blend both creative minds and performers, a very experienced manager is required in luxury. The ideal is that the luxury company should have leaders who have a proven record of luxury experience work history including their worth in their mainstream world. The manager should be very familiar, knowledgeable, and experienced with the products, the luxury concepts and the job itself, and has something extra, beyond their peers, enable them to work with both creative minds and performers to produce the goods. Managers who only have experience in traditional companies will have difficulties in blending with the team and adapting to the specific requirement and environment of the

luxury workplace. Choosing the right caliber manager is essential.

Stability in teams that include creative minds, performers, and managers is an important key since human capital is a vital part of giving value to luxury brands. Traditionally, luxury employees spend a big portion of their entire career in a single luxury company. The faithfulness of these employees to luxury companies leads to a certain cultural originality, apparent in its products and services, as obviously recognized by the customers. In this case, employee loyalty is pivotal in order to retain the originality of the luxury products and services.

Constantly moving from one company to another causes the originality of the brand to disappear.

When we talk about teamwork in luxury, it is not about helping and supporting each other, but paking a very important part with responsibility and attitude to create, perform and manage.

The great luxury companies have splendid venues and stores and produce beautiful products and services. In these venues and stores, the brand’s image is transmitted to the public and customers. Luxury teams fulfill the brand’s promise and make the customers’ dreams come true.

The inspiration behind starting the Dandelion International Diplomatic Business Club stemmed from a profound need to unite compassionate individuals and valuable resources to collaboratively address crucial global challenges.

In a world filled with trials and transformations, the collaboration between peaceful entrepreneurs and diplomats can pave the way for grand ideas and positive changes.

The name "Dandelion" carries a special significance. It symbolizes an

Our future initiatives, such as the Spiritual Platform, the global automotive rally, and the investment platform, are infused with spirit and a genuine desire to contribute to a better world and future.

8. THE CLUB AIMS TO COVER 50 COUNTRIES IN THE NEAR TERM. HOW DO YOU PLAN TO ACHIEVE THIS EXPANSION?

Our dream of covering 50 countries in the near future is built on a belief in the power of collaboration. We intend to build bridges between different parts of the world and foster friendships to move forward together. We believe that by uniting, we can overcome any boundaries. Our long-term dream is to create a global ecosystem for entrepreneurs and diplomats where every member can find support and resources to bring their ideas to life.

9. FINALLY, WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS AND INNOVATORS WHO ASPIRE TO JOIN DANDELION?

Our advice to young entrepreneurs and innovators: do not be afraid to dream big and think beyond boundaries, strive for knowledge and education, and, most importantly, do not stand still because it is by moving forward that you can change this world for the better.

Dandelion International Diplomatic Business Club is more than an exclusive assembly of business leaders; it's a movement. As the industry adjusts to increasing levels of cybercrime, insurers are increasing premiums and becoming more strict about whom they will insure. However, if organisations don’t meet even the minimum requirements of security and data protection, insurance will do them little good. Instead, it needs to be just one part of the digital resiliency toolbox. Let's look at the bigger picture of cyber insurance, and what businesses need to do to truly have peace of mind.

THE WILD WEST?

The topic of cyber insurance has been dominating the cyber security agenda in recent months. Enterprises are, wisely, looking for assurance in the face of near-inevitable cyber attacks. A report found that 85%

of organisations were successfully attacked by ransomware in 2022, up from 76% in the previous year. At the same time, the insurance industry is still scrambling to adjust to a threat it doesn’t fully understand. Globally, cyber insurance pricing increased by 28% in Q4 2022, following a 53% increase in the previous quarter.

Alongside rising premiums, insurers are becoming more discerning about who they will or won’t insure - increasing the minimum standards of protection organisations need to pass to be insured. Similarly, the stance on what types of incidents are covered is changing - a major London insurance market recently announced they’d no longer insure disruption caused by state-backed cyber warfare. If it all feels a bit wild

west, perhaps that’s to be expected.

It's a young and volatile industry and cyber incidents have a unique kind of complexity that insurers and organisations are still getting to grips with.

However, businesses need to bear this in mind when looking at insurance.

Making a claim can be complex, and as the saying goes - insurers are in the business of not paying. Making a claim can be time-consuming and requires a lot of evidence, adding to the resource stretch in the aftermath of a cyber event.

THE “BEST-CASE” SCENARIO

Even with a successful payout, organisations must understand that this is not a cure-all to something like

the biggest concerns, so auditing data sets and checking if any have been damaged is crucial. If recovering using older versions of data and systems, make sure these are updated as soon as possible.

Essentially you need to check that everything is still intact and it still integrates and runs together.

At the same time, it's difficult to know if these incidents are over since the risk of reinfection from malware remaining on the system or the threat of double or triple extortion is high.

For the enterprise, recovering data, applications and system availability is crucial - every second can cost them thousands of dollars.

The added challenge is that systems typically can’t be recovered back to where they were hosted before (where the attack occurred) because, not only is it a crime scene in an investigation, but you can’t guarantee the environment is safe and uncompromised. For example, if your office burned down overnight, you couldn’t immediately build a new one in the same place. You’d need to instead find an alternative working environment for your employees until your office was safe to return to.

Most significant is the chance that data cannot be recovered despite paying the ransom, but even if it's “successful”, using the decryption keys supplied, it can be an incredibly slow process. Another risk for businesses paying ransomware demands is repeat attacks - gangs often mark those that pay, so that they or other groups can return later for another bite of the cherry.

WHAT CAN BUSINESSES DO?

This isn’t to say insurance isn’t worth having, just that it needs to be part of a wider digital resilience strategy.

A good data protection model has robust security, backup and recovery processes in place, to not only reduce the likelihood of an attack but more important to prepare the business to respond and recover in the event of a disaster.

On the security side, start by testing and patching systems regularly to find and remove vulnerabilities.

Ensure you’re training staff across the business on digital hygiene and secure remote access. This will ultimately help you become more insurable and may even lead to lower premiums.

The next thing enterprises need to do is to protect their data and ensure

they can maintain IT availability in the event of a cyber incident.

Enterprises need to identify what data and systems they cannot function without and ensure these are copied and stored safely in the event of a ransomware attack.

Organisations sometimes assume that they have this in place, either internally or through their cloud provider (this is a common myth), but it is more often not the case. In a survey of thousands of business IT leaders, it was found that 79% have a “reality gap” between the data and systems that the business units expect are protected, and the reality.

It's also important that data is stored in multiple copies in a variety of ways such as off-site, off-line and immutable copies.

Finally, businesses need to have the availability protection and disaster recovery processes in place to avoid and reduce downtime as much as possible. The same survey found that the reality gap when it came to availability was even greater, with four out of five businesses not being confident in their IT systems being resilient enough to ensure business continuity.

Even with a backup to restore from, IT teams need to have an environment scoped out and ready to recover systems (even if only temporarily) and organisations that design their IT infrastructure with recovery in mind will be able to bounce back much easier.

The cyber insurance industry is going to continue to change and adapt as the threat landscape increases. But this is only natural when what the industry is insuring is so nebulous and mutating constantly. While insurance can help organisations back on their feet when disaster strikes, it is only one part of the puzzle.

As thresholds for being insurable continue to increase, enterprises shouldn’t just aim to meet the minimum standard required but instead aim to surpass it entirely with a more holistic approach to data protection.

Jordan is a land of diverse landscapes and ancient wonders, and one of the most captivating road trips you can embark on is the drive from Amman to the Dead Sea. I was in Amman for the launch of the new KIA Seltos and we began our road trip adventure in Amman, Jordan's capital city. As we left the urban hustle behind, we found ourselves on a winding road that leads to the Dead Sea. The drive itself is a scenic delight, with picturesque views of rolling hills and distant mountains.

Ideally, before you hit the road, make a pit stop at the Citadel of Amman if you have time. Explore the ancient ruins, including the Temple of Hercules and the Umayyad Palace.

From the citadel's vantage point, you can enjoy panoramic views of Amman and its surrounding hills.

Next, make a detour to the Mujib Nature Reserve, a hidden gem known for its breathtaking canyons and adventurous

hiking trails. Explore the Siq Trail, which takes you through the narrow gorge and leads to awe-inspiring viewpoints.

As you continue your journey, keep an eye out for local roadside eateries. Savor traditional Jordanian dishes like mansaf or falafel sandwiches. The flavors of Jordan are as diverse as its landscapes. We stopped at the Dead Sea Panorama Restaurant which was perfect for eating and relaxing.

Finally, at the Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth has a lot to offer visitors. Float effortlessly in its salty waters, indulge in the therapeutic mud, and soak up the stunning views of the surrounding desert landscape.

The Dead Sea is a natural wonder that offers a unique experience like no other.

FORBES INTERNATIONAL TOWER AND DESIGNWORKS, A BMW GROUP COMPANY, COLLABORATE ON THE FIRST EXPERIENTIAL SENSORY DESIGN FAÇADE IN THE MIDDLE EAST Magnom Properties, a subsidiary of Saudi Arabia’s Rawabi Holding, has partnered with Designworks, a BMW Group Company, to launch an emotionally engaging experiential design for the façade of its upcoming Forbes International Tower, a futuristic, lifecycle net negative carbon commercial tower planned in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Egypt. An agreement to this effect was signed between the two entities at BMW Welt in Munich, Germany.

Commenting on the strategic partnership, Othman A. Ibrahim, Vice Chairman and Group CEO of Rawabi Holding and Vice Chairman of Magnom Properties, said: “Responding to the environmentally sound, future ready building’s broader and natural context, Designworks will enrich the design and experience of the Tower through sensorial and surprising stimuli to deeply connect with the Tower’s occupants, visitors, and other audiences.”

Aligned with the creative vision of the building’s architects Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture (AS+GG Architecture), the collaboration will ensure a harmonious fusion of architectural and experiential elements.

The strong focus on aesthetic lighting solutions will convert the architectural structure into a captivating and dynamic work of art, creating a memorable visual signature that resonates with both residents and visitors in the community.

Built in partnership with Forbes and placing itself at the forefront of the sustainable design movement, the Forbes International Tower will be the first project of this scope in the Middle East for Designworks, BMW Group's innovation studio and a global creative consultancy.

Working at the intersection of design, technology, and innovation, Designworks will follow the experience design process of the BMW Group and focus on human needs and expectations to create a sensory experience for the Tower’s contextually responsive soaring glass, steel, and photovoltaic-laced exterior.

Under the newly signed agreement, Designworks will create an experience map for the Forbes International Tower, including a signature façade illumination and charging experience.

“When I develop a shoe, I approach it like a fashion designer, and I try to create a new line,” he added.

A perspective that paid off, with his inverted structure, which borrows as much from art as from fashion, and which the press of the time described as “strange, downward-sloping stiletto heels.” Today, the Maison’s designs elaborate upon this unique form of expression, honoring the innovative, pioneering spirit of its founder.

Let us not forget that Monsieur Vivier was known as the Fabergé of footwear. He was the first to bring the techniques and materials of Haute Couture to the world of accessories.

Whether for daytime or evening, adorning his shoes with embroidery and draping. As early as the 1950s, the designer customarily built a look from the shoe up, using an accessory to transform a woman’s allure.

Gherardo Felloni strives to carry that innovative approach forward by integrating those techniques into this collection. This parallel conveys the full daintiness and preciousness of the fine craftsmanship that brings a special aura to Vivier creations.

Draping, flounces, embroidery.

This constellation of ethereal, masterful techniques meets the graphic energy of the Choc heel and the iconic Viv’ Choc Me bag, another of the Maison’s signatures. This season, this emblematic model also takes inspiration from the draping technique.

Gherardo Felloni chose to craft the Viv’ Choc Me in a leather as supple as fabric and as soft and silky as velvet, and to top it with a softly rounded buckle that reflects the curves of the Choc heel. Her inspiration for this collaboration is based on a series of portraits dedicated to immortalizing the ever-evolving and ever-strong embodiment of Arab women. The inspiration for this idea draws heavily from the photographs featured in Christiane Desroches Noblecourt’s 1960s book of The Acanthus History of Sculptures - Ancient Egypt. The images are simple but powerful.

AMINA ZAHER

Amina Zaher is a Fashion photographer born in Egypt. Her inspiration is drawn from the Middle-Eastern Culture and is defined by Arabian architecture and minarets. She features one of these spaces along with styling inspired by Arabian Nights.

Amina will be working with two MiddleEastern faces with a strong concept about The Turban: a head scarf that originated from Arab communities with prominent turban-wearing traditions in the Middle East and was later brought to France where it was finally named The Turban.

Paul Poiret, the so-called ‘Sultan de la mode’, included the turban in his revival of ‘oriental’ styles in the early 1910s and the European aristocracy started to collect original, vintage turbans from the middle-east which they decorated with brooches.

HAYAT OSAMA

Hayat Osamah is a Middle - Eastern multidisciplinary artist and filmmaker whos’ dedication to visual storytelling has garnered widespread recognition for its innovation and emotional depth. symphonic of all the house’s perfumes, Portrait of a Lady (2010) was composed

by Dominique Ropion, a star perfumer Frédéric Malle regularly collaborates with. The publisher readily compares “this absolute masterpiece’” to “an imagined symphony, like a dream of a thousand and one nights.” Portrait of a Lady is a new breed of amber rose, a baroque perfume.

Based on an accord of benzoin, cinnamon, sandalwood and, above all musk, patchouli, and frankincense. It

takes off with a Turkish rose oil that Dominique Ropion linked to the rest of the formula, thanks to a red berries and spice accord.

The three photographers draw inspiration from their diverse backgrounds.

RARE KOREAN SILK SCREEN PAINTING WORK OF ONE OF THE GREATEST KOREAN ROYAL COURT PAINTERS HEADS TO AUCTION Dreweatts is thrilled to offer an eightpanel Korean silk screen attributed to one of the greatest Korean Royal court artists of the Joseon Dynasty (1392–1910), Kim Deuk-Sin (1754-1822), which is actually signed with a seal by the artist, making it exceptionally rare. The screen, which depicts a banquet in honour of the famed General Guo Ziyi (697-781) of China’s Tang Dynasty (618-907), is one of only 47 screens of the same topic remaining in the world today (scattered across major museums, such as the Metropolitan Museum, the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the National Palace Museum of Korea), the difference being that only a very few bear the seal of the artist, such as this example.

Commenting on the work, Dr. Yingwen Tao, Dreweatts specialist in Chinese and Asian Art, said: “Attributed to one of the finest court artists of the Joseon Dynasty, this folding screen stands out as a showcase of the Ming tradition being revived in Korean court painting.

Royal court painters were professional artists working for the Royal offices.

Those chosen were only the most highly skilled of artists. The subject matter of their work was directed by Royal officials who sought to impact ideology and strengthen authority in the region. The court painters at this time also pioneered genre painting, cleverly encapsulating scenes from everyday life.

The mid-to-late Joseon Dynasty is considered the golden age of Korean painting. It coincides with the collapse of the Ming Dynasty, which had had a huge effect on Korea. The Ming Dynasty had been so admired that Korean artists sought to emulate their artistic style and this can be seen in the current screen.

The Royal court painter Kim Deuk-Sin whose father was also a Korean Royal court painter, entered Royal service as a member of the Dohwaseo, or Korean Royal Academy of Painting, whose role was to create artworks for the nation, as directed by the Royal offices. Kim DeukSin was particularly admired for his landscape and genre paintings.

The Chinese General Guo Ziyi was chosen as the subject for this screen, not just because of his individual achievements,

but also because he lived a long life (until the age of 85), with a big family of eight sons and seven daughters, who were all also very successful.

He therefore became the epitome of Confucian loyalty and fortitude and was even deified in popular religion, as a God of wealth and happiness.

By the 17th century in China, Guo’s reception had become a metaphor for auspicious birthday celebrations in general and was depicted in various media, e.g., blue and white porcelain, embroidery and lacquer, conveying a wish for longevity, wealth and rank.

In this particular screen the scene of the honorary banquet for the general is set against a palatial background, with flowering trees, deer and birds. General Guo Ziyi is at the centre, surrounded by his family, with all enjoying a dance performance.

His sons and sons-in-law stand by his side in official costume and his grandsons play in front of him. The pine trees are included to represent longevity and the flowering peonies symbolise wealth and prosperity.

MODERN, ELEGANT AND CUTTING EDGE DESIGN FERRETTI GROUP SUPERYACHT YARD IN ANCONA, CUSTOM LINE LAUNCHES FOUR SUPERYACHTS IN THE PLANING LINE AND TWO IN THE NAVETTA LINE In little more than two months, six Custom Line superyachts from 30 to 42 metres in length have entered the water. The launch of the 18th Custom Line 106’ Planing line hull was attended by the shipyard’s employees and the owner family. Custom Line 106’ M/Y CENTURY STAR, an emblem of clean architectural lines and timeless excellence, is a creation of the Ferretti Group Engineering Department, with the support of Francesco Paszkowski Design for the interiors and the exterior styling.

The Custom Line Atelier played a crucial role in the interior design process, working in close and constant contact with the customer – based in the AMAS region – to interpret their wishes in terms of style. and 7.4 metres in the beam – give this superyacht an understated refinement that features natural transitions between all the settings.

The 28th Custom Line Navetta 33 hull, Navetta line superyacht is the result of collaboration between the Strategic Product Committee – which handled the exterior styling – and the Ferretti Group Engineering Department, whose architects and designers created the interiors, with the support of strategic consulting provided by the Custom Line Atelier. The powerful but balanced profile of this 33-metre yacht with a 7.52-metre beam is the epitome of class and elegance. In the refined, harmonious design of the interiors, light, rich colours like milk white or snow white are set off against the darker, more seductive tones

of bronze, black, lava grey and anthracite.

These colour shades are reprised in the original furnishings and fine materials, such as polished Nero Marquina and polished Calcatta Ondulato marble.

M/Y KARMA C, the 15th hull in the Custom Line Navetta 30 line, comes with a length of 28.43 m and a beam of 7.3 m, this superyacht is the result of collaboration between the Strategic Product Committee – which handled the exterior styling – and the Ferretti Group Engineering Department; the interior architecture is

The four-deck configuration amplifies the space on board, arranged in settings created to capture special moments of conviviality and relaxation. With the large, glazed surfaces in the hull and generous stern and bow areas, this superyacht offers a panoramic view in every direction.

The 19 superyacht in the Custom Line 106’ Planing line was launched in September. Custom Line 106’ embodies Made in Italy excellence, with hull lines designed to deliver hydrodynamic performance at the very highest level.

The luminous beauty of this yacht is conferred on it by the light that permeates and amplifies the space on board. The outdoor and indoor areas feature a sophisticated but understated design, expressing a strong formal balance punctuated by a few standout elements.

The harmonious colour palette is based on the use of neutral, warm colours such as white, sepia, various shades of light and dark brown and bronze, plus a few touches of grey-green, combined with sophisticated materials such as Bianco Lasa and polished Orobico marble.

Planing line flagship also took to the sea, the result of collaboration between the Ferretti Group Engineering Department and Francesco Paszkowski Design for the exterior and interior design. With a sleek and powerful silhouette, Custom Line 140’ has an overall length of 42.61 metres and a maximum beam of 8.54 metres. The yacht has a sporty character and modern styling, with taught lines that sweep from bow to stern, creating an incredible alternation of materials and colours represented by the light-coloured structural surfaces and dark plate glass.

The modern, elegant design of the outdoor and indoor areas is inspired by residential architecture and draws on indepth research to enhance the shapes and volumes involved. The furnishings and decor, designed and produced in collaboration with renowned design brands, make use of original techniques and high-end materials. They include a wide selection of marbles such as Calcatta Gold and Roma Imperiale, brushed oak parquet and marquetry, or the craft of applying decorative veneers.

The tenth Custom Line 120’ hull M/Y CarMa, comes with a length of 38.36 meters and a beam of 7.65 meters, this superyacht has a distinctly sporty personality defined by sleek, powerful

contours and modern styling, offering the maximum in terms of speed, performance and wellbeing on board. The design connects the exterior and interior settings through large hull windows and floor-to-ceiling glazing on deck, allowing natural light reflected off the blue sea to flood in.

During my recent visit to the Geneva International Motor Show, I had the privilege to meet the Chery team as they unveiled their new cars in Qatar. Present among the key management was Simon Liu who joined Chery 15 years ago, and is now in charge of key markets in GCC which include Saudi Arabia.

With his effort, the sales volume rose more than 300%, gaining more than 30,000 customers' trust in 2021 and 2022, leading Chery brand as the top brand in market.

He is now managing Chery brand in GCC markets , including KSA, UAE, Jordan and Oman. We found out more about the brand from our visit to the Chery stand.

BIGGER, BOLDER, BETTER KIA SELTOS SUV DRIVE EXPERIENCE IN JORDAN

By Natasha Dury My first encounter with KIA Seltos was in 2019 when my mother went for a test drive to Abu Dhabi and brought the car home for a week. She gushed about how the car ticked all the boxes and was just the right size for pretty much anything she wanted to do around the city including being able to easily ferry around my golfing bag, PADI diving gear and my horse-riding kit in the boot or transporting me to my taekwondo, music or theatre classes.

Hence when I ventured recently with Kia Middle East and Africa to Jordan to drive the car from Amman to the Dead Sea, I was excited as I had seen images of the car with a design uplift and knew it was going to be a fun drive. The new Kia Seltos is bigger and bolder than its predecessor and comes with a better design and more advanced safety features.

I was briefed by our team on roughly what to expect in terms of the drive schedule, but I certainly did not foresee driving in a busy city with no lane markings on the road and am grateful for the fast response of the Seltos when I needed to manoeuvre

In terms of the drive experience and performance, the new Seltos offered just the right amount of power and innovative features for a memorable driving experience. This SUV, making its Middle East debut, combines adventure-ready capability with luxurious comfort and cutting-edge technology. We headed on an exploration of Oman's scenic wonders, putting the Everest's capabilities to the test.

As we set off on our journey, one thing becomes immediately clear – the NextGen Ford Everest is built tough on the outside but offers a sanctuary-like interior. Its spacious cabin is designed for the ultimate comfort of up to seven passengers. Plush materials, premium finishes, and ambient lighting create an inviting atmosphere.

Our journey in Oman took us through a variety of terrains, from rocky trails to smooth highways. The Everest's powertrains were up to the task.

Depending on the market, customers have a choice of engines. We had the opportunity to experience the 2.3-liter EcoBoost turbo petrol engine, a proven powerhouse delivering an impressive 296 horsepower, making it the best-inclass.

For those seeking a diesel option, the 2.0-liter Single-Turbo diesel engine is available, providing 168 horsepower and excellent low-speed torque. Whether towing, going off-road, or simply enjoying a family adventure, the Everest's engines deliver the power and torque needed for every situation.

Oman's diverse terrain offered us a variety of driving challenges, and the Everest proved its mettle. Its 4x4 system

with Electronic Shift On the Fly (ESOF) transfer case, underbody skid plates, rear locking differential, and off-road selectable drive modes allowed us to navigate confidently through rough patches.

We utilized Everest's off-road screens, displaying vehicle information and a front camera view of the terrain ahead.

Predictive overlay guidelines made negotiating obstacles a breeze. The SUV's water wading ability of up to 800mm provided added reassurance, especially when crossing water bodies.

Towing capabilities were also put to the test, and the Everest didn't disappoint.

With a maximum braked trailer towing capability of up to 3,100kg, it's wellsuited for those with trailers or cargo to haul. The integrated electric trailer brake controller and other smart towing technologies made the process smoother.

connectivity and safety features. The 8-inch digital instrument panel and large touchscreens, including the impressive 12-inch screen, showcased Ford's latest SYNC® 4A system. Voice-activated communications, entertainment, and information systems kept us connected on the go.

Everest's off-road zone lighting system ensured we never had to operate in the dark during our various activities.

Safety was a top priority. The Everest comes equipped with advanced driver assist technologies such as Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go, Lane Centering, and a suite of collision mitigation systems.

With features like Reverse Parking Aid, Rearview Camera, and Blind Spot Information System with Trailer Coverage, we felt confident and secure on the road.
