Coming to the end of my first term as Head of School, I would like to start by expressing what a privilege it has been so far. I have immensely valued the opportunity to represent the boys on behalf of the School that has done so much for me, and for many others, across all aspects of life here. Before I was interviewed, I did not have much of an idea of what being Head of School actually entailed. There is no job description for it, and I heard from previous boys in this position that each boy approaches the role differently. I was told that, should I be selected, it would be because I would have a unique way of leading the School which would be appropriate for the coming year. At first, this was slightly unnerving, but soon I realised that this was the best advice that I had been given; after I was appointed and started the role, my approach became quite self-evident.
