Meet Michelle Gray: HVIC Volunteer

Michelle Gray has been a dedicated volunteer at the Hoodsport Visitor Information Center for eight years, bringing warmth and insight to every visitor interaction. Originally from Illinois, Michelle spent years traveling the world with her family, creating meaningful experiences that now shape her connections at the Visitor Center. She later moved to California, where she worked as a flight attendant and in real estate before making Hoodsport her home 17 years ago. Her love for travel and culture—shaped by family adventures to places like Egypt and Ireland—fuels her passion for sharing stories and learning from others.

Beyond her travels, Michelle enjoys an active lifestyle filled with bridge games, golf, and hiking. One fateful hike in Palm Desert connected her with a Hoodsport local, inspiring her move to this scenic community. Once settled in, Michelle felt compelled to give back, first volunteering at a food bank before finding her true calling at the Visitor Center, where her skills and interests perfectly aligned. Volunteering there feels like a natural continuation of her career, allowing her to connect with people from all over the world and keep the spirit of exploration alive. Each visitor offers her a new perspective, whether it's an exchange on marriage customs with an Indian couple or insights from a Pakistani traveler.

The Chamber deeply appreciates Michelle’s years of dedication, which have enriched countless experiences and strengthened our community. Her commitment exemplifies the heart of volunteerism, creating a welcoming space that makes Hoodsport memorable for visitors and locals alike. Michelle’s presence is a testament to the impact of volunteer work, as she helps foster an environment where every visitor feels at home and each encounter leaves a lasting impression.
