hell Point is now officially “live” with Paycor, the new Human Resources and payroll platform!

More than 800 employees have already registered and have access to view their personal and position information, PTO balances, paystubs and company directory from the convenience of their phone, tablet or home computer. Employees are also able to view a list of current open positions and apply for a transfer right from their phone.

Shell Point Cares About Heart Health E

ach year, the Community Thrift Store gives back to the southwest Florida community by supporting Shell Point Cares.

This initiative allows Shell Point residents and employees to don signature blue shirts and walk together in support of various causes – most recently at the Lee County American Heart Association’s annual Heart Walk on December 14!

Heading to HONDURAS

E

mployees are invited to join Shell Point Medical Director Dr. Gary Goforth and Shell Point residents for an international medical mission trip to Honduras, which will take place

from March 13 through March 21, 2020.

Medical mission teams serve roughly 1,200 to 1,500 patients per week through clinics held in remote villages and nursing homes that do not have local medical resources.

Team members will assist with crowd control, distributing vitamins and deworming medicines, and assisting in an evangelism station by distributing

Scriptures, praying for patients and sharing the Gospel, if fluent in Spanish.

The estimated cost for this trip, excepting any souvenirs purchased, is $1,990. This includes travel insurance for each team member and contingency plans for medical emergencies, evacuation and blood-borne pathogen exposure. The payment for the mission trip is tax-deductible.

Be a HERO, Donate Blood!

he next opportunity to participate in the 2020 blood drive will take place on Tuesday, February 11, from 12:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Make an appointment online at www. oneblooddonor.org, and enter sponsor code 10285 when prompted. All donors will receive a free wellness checkup, including blood pressure, temperature, iron count, pulse and cholesterol screening.

You will find the bloodmobile located in front of The Village Church. Please bring a photo ID.

The Incredible Edible Shell Point

H

ave you ever been suddenly awakened from a deep sleep in the middle of the night and glanced over at the clock on the nightstand, just to realize its only 2 a.m.? With a slight smile, you’d probably roll over and peacefully fall back asleep.

It’s just the opposite for the Shell Point Resort Dining team! 2 a.m. is when all the action begins as the bakers arrive and turn on the lights, preparing to make that day’s delights.

As the early morning hours quickly go by, all nine kitchens start to buzz

as fryers, ovens and coffee makers start chirping and chiming in unison.

Each day, the Dining team feeds more than 3,600 mouths – both residents and employees combined.

Shell Point’s public restaurants let diners explore many culinary styles and cuisines while serving appetizing farm-to-table and sea-to-table dishes made from home-grown, Floridian ingredients.

The Shell Point dining team makes a difference in the health and longevity of all who work and live at Shell Point and the surrounding community.

Spreading Christmas Cheer

n celebration of Christmas, employees gathered for a special time of fellowship, hosted by the Shell Point management team and the Human Resources department.

A festive Christmas photo booth, complete with props, greeted employees upon their arrival at The Village Church for the luncheon. The catered meal, an Italian-inspired feast provided by the Resort Dining team, and the menu received rave reviews!

During the lunch program, employees enjoyed a cheerful Christmas video that told Shell Point’s version of The Night Before Christmas. Employees also entered for the chance to win a prize drawings at each luncheon. The winners appreciated their extra-special Christmas gifts!

s the excitement for the holiday season spread throughout the community, employees shared Christmas cheer by participating in a spirited competition to see which department could create the most creative Christmas centerpieces for the event. Each department received a set of molded shell decorations to use as the basis for this crafty project.

Residents Said “Thank You!” With Christmas Gift

hanks to more than 1,175 generous Shell Point residents, staff couldn’t stop smiling during the Employee Christmas Fund distribution day on Friday, December 6.

This year, residents contributed a total of $472,690 to the Employee Christmas Fund, which resulted in a maximum amount of $590 for each employee (except for senior level management and directors) who worked full-time during the year.
