For the past 50 years we have worked hard on delivering a product that is diverse, but still consistent enough to meet the needs of our buyers. We feel that our bloodlines we are using today are a true testament to the program we have created. Going all the way back to Saska Sunny Boy, Super Nice, Super Trader Bar, The CW Special, Johnny Joak, McArthurs Geno, and Tallymine to name a few, we feel that our sires are a major key to our continued success. We continue to strive to meet our goal of providing you, our valued customers, with a reliable and predictable product. We take great pride in producing foals that meet our strict criteria of, excellent disposition, versatility, eye appeal, and proven bloodline. These have been our top priorities for the past 50 years, and will continue to be as long as we are breeding horses. We would like to sincerely thank all our customers for having confidence in our breeding program, and helping us promote and prove our product year to year. Without your support we would not exist. Our horses have been very good to us and we have met a lot of AMAZING people that have become lifelong friends, and for that we are truly grateful. We truly feel that this year’s sale offspring is consistent with past years. A Little History...
With nothing more than a passion for horses, a dream and a little piece of land, Diamond K Ranch was created. Tom and Jean King are the true creators of this wonderful place we are lucky enough to call our home. From the very beginning, Tom had a passion for having a product that was versatile, bred well, and looked great doing it. His very first stallion was Saska Sunny Boy, and from that moment on, we have continued to grow. Operations change and evolve overtime, if they didn’t we would never improve. We work with each other everyday to bring you the best horses we possibly can. John and Bernice have played a huge role in where we are today as a program. They travelled up and down the road with a trailer full of horses promoting DKR at every fair along the way. As the years progressed they took a step back from showing to focus on team penning, riding pasture and now passing their love for horses on to their grandchildren. We are where we are today because of the determination, dedication and hard work they put in!
Absentee Bids (Phone Bidding): Anyone wishing to bid who cannot be in attendance at the sale may do so by phone bidding. Please contact us prior to sale day. Please allow us enough time to properly discuss your needs and to make the necessary arrangements to have your name on the list. We will be in contact with everyone on the phone bidding list the morning of the sale to establish good phone connections and assign each individual a member of our phone bidding team. Phone bidding is provided as a customer service for those who cannot attend the sale. Horses will not leave until payment has been made.

We are very excited to be adding “Spud” to our reference sire list. Spud was purchased with the intentions of showing at the Manitobia Super Horse 50/50 in 2020. We started him and were as preapred as we could be, but with the uncertainy of Covid we decided to expose two mares to him. Erin the eldest of the King girls’, is always just a phone call away when it comes to farm work. Erin and her three girls love being busy with 4-H and horses! This past summer we were spoiled to have them camp here and help out daily! Look for Erins’ two foals in the sale!

Hi there! I am Shelby Gutzke(King), the one behind our social media, photos, the sale catalogue and other daily tasks. Alongside my husband Ryley and our two daughters Lynley and Layla we live at Diamond K Ranch and work with my parents to help run and operate DKR. As full-time employees of Diamond K Ranch we get to see, and be apart of what it takes to run a successful breeding program that people know and trust. We love being able to raise our girls the same way I was brought up, and look forward to watching their love for horses grow. Lynley loves calling out the horses by name, and riding Tulip whenever she gets the chance. They already have spent a lot of time in the swather, rake, bailer and combine in their short time with us, and we assume they will be helping us run things in no time! Our portion of DKR/RGR keeps growing! I have always had an interest in paints and that has resulted in us purchasing More Then A Crush, and raising RGR Sharp Dressed Man. We beilive that the paint division will be as reliable, well built, and easily trainable as every other foal born here at Diamond K. We also have a 2 year old Palomino son of Pepinics Smokin Gun that we are extreamly excited about! Ryley put a nice quiet start on Fonzie and was able to take him out to a few brandings this spring, he made quite a few new friends with Fonzies’ good manners, solid disposition and stout build. We gave him the rest of summer off and look forward to getting back on him this winter! The majority of our mares are DKR bred and raised. We feel we have aquired a very well rounded group that are solid prodcuers and mares that are a true testament to the DKR breeding program. We look forward to catching up with you at the sale. CK Stock Farm~ Kayla and Cody Englot, along with their two children Elliot and Scarlett currently live in Candiac where they operate their own purebred Charolais cattle and grain farming operation. Keeping the Diamond K tradition of starting young horses alive, Kayla and Cody both have a love and passion for taking a horse and helping it realize its potential. With an impressive background in showing, a love for reining and years of experience working daily with Tom King, the knowledge Kayla has is impressive. Kayla also runs the Candiac 4-H Beef club, where she is able to teach kids all of her cattle knowledge and share her passion of the beef industry. ***A select group of purebred bull calves available off their farm in the fall*** See you at the sale! Saying Good-Bye is never easy... We laid Pepinics Smokin Gun to rest last fall, and it only seems fitting that he closes out our sale catalgue this year. Adding him to our “Legneds” portion of DKR is really hard. Gunner has played a major role in shaping Dimaond K over the last 15 years, and we know that he will continue to do so for many more years to come. We have many mares off of Gunner that are huge staples in out broodmare band. We were lucky enough to have three Pepinics Smokin Gun fillies this spring, they will be added to our mareband, and riding string. 2 years ago we were lucky enough to have two sons off of Gunner that are we belive will become leading sires for us down the road.
