explore canyon country national park exploration photography Creating my own idea of the definition of a sabbatical, I took a year to be inspired and to explore the national parks the great west has to offer. I took seasonal jobs at national parks which allowed me to be fully integrated to the surroundings and to use my off time documenting and exploring. This type of job allowed me to live a more nomadic lifestyle and gave more opportunity to travel. So I was able to not only be inspired by the world around me, but I was able to travel while in between seasons. This exploration of the west served as a reset and as a way to create art through documentation. exploratory photography project location: arizona, utah, and wyoming year: december 2023

national park color scheme inspirations: throughout my travels across the midwest, I was constantly inspired by the variations of colors the natural world brings to us. with photography and the handy eyedropper tool, I created color schemes based on natural landscapes and their unique textures.
