What’s more, leadership roles women are taking in all business categories have increased as well. Entrepreneur-in-Residence Offers Complimentary Guidance & Support to Small Business The Chamber’s Entrepreneurin-Residence/ Mentorship Program continues to provide much needed assistance to small business owners – and entrepreneurs. Participants have received guidance on starting a new business, expanding an existing business, launching a new product, downsizing and dealing with a difficult employee.

The next Mentorship opportunities, facilitated by Michael Smith the Chamber’s

Three business groups in Shelby County are collaborating to recognize those entities in the tourism and recreation business sector who excel each and every day in making Shelby County a more attractive destination for tourists and visitors.

The Chelsea Business Alliance, Montevallo Chamber of Commerce and The Shelby County Chamber are accepting nominations for their joint Tourism and Recreation All Star Awards program in three categories – Lodging, Restaurant and Attractions / Recreation”.

In addition, a “Rising Star” category is also in place to recognize an organization that has truly distinguished itself in its “first year”.

Completed nomination packets in all categories are due to The Shelby

County Chamber by no later than September 6 by 5:00PM. “Tourism and recreation are a vital part of our economy here in Shelby County.
