What’s your background?
Prior to joining Sheffield Haworth, I spent years of working in the Executive Search, People Analytics and Consulting fields. I have worked at a variety of firms including Korn Ferry, Global Boutiques, Caldwell Partners and I was CEO of my own firm
Who in your career has been a role model to you?
Jane Fraser has been a great inspiration for me; for her work ethic and determination to always go higher and succeed.
What made you join the consulting industry?
The consulting industry is a field that always interested me It’s a great business where you are solving known and unknown challenges I enjoy the challenges I have to face and being in the war room.
Tell us something people might not know about you/do you have any hidden talents?
I am a baker, and I have actually entered the "Great British Bake off" raffle. Also, I am a pro and ballroom dancing champion and an avid gardner.
What’s your background?
I have worked in varied industries I was placed with a FinTech under the NTT Data umbrella, right after my MBA From there, I moved to an industrial manufacturing firm where I was a Business Development and Marketing person Then executive search happened, and I ended up liking it I then decided to build my career in consulting
What made you join the consulting industry?
I fortuitously ended up in consulting I was back in my city and was looking for a job The first job I landed here was into executive search. I worked as a third-party provider for an international leadership advisory firm for over 3 years before deciding to move onto work in an executive search firm.
How is it going at Sheffield Haworth so far?
It’s been totally amazing I am already working on such great projects. Every day is exciting, and I don’t see a dearth of opportunities and exposure here People here are so thoughtful and considerate and always ready to offer any help/assistance needed.
Who in your career has been a role model to you?
My first boss Right after college, it sometimes got too overwhelming new city, new people, new responsibilities My boss made sure; work was never a burden. One thing I learnt was that empathy at workplace is extremely important if you wish to maintain healthy work relations and a healthy work environment
What is your favourite book?
"Not without my Daughter" by Jean Sasson.
What’s your background?
Prior to joining Sheffield Haworth, I spent more than a decade running my own executive search firm, covering mainly the real estate sector. I spent the earlier part of my life working in Strategy and Business Development roles in various industries, a rather significant portion of which were in the fast moving consumer sector.
How is it going at Sheffield Haworth so far?
It has been truly awesome It is refreshing to meet so many people, learn about the systems, processes, and way of working. The opportunity to speak to many people during my first two weeks of orientation provided great insight about the people during my first two weeks of orientation provided great insight about the people and culture of the firm which I could identify with What’s more, during my first
two weeks here, I got the opportunity to meet in person wonderful folks from Australia, Hong Kong, and London: Adam, Bruce, Charlie, Georgie, Paddy, and Simon who happened to be in town; and Charlie being the first person I met in the Singapore office.
I came into the industry by chance as the search firm I joined then was looking for someone with FMCG experience and I was looking to explore beyond what I was doing Building up a Consumer desk in a Search firm doing all sorts of roles in the industry and doing all finance function roles across industries seemed an attractive and a logical move for me What keeps me in the industry however is its dynamic nature which presents an ever refreshing challenge each time a deal is cut, as no two deals are the same and no two candidates, unlike products, are identical It keeps my mind very active and engaged. Not to mention is the learning one could get in understanding clients’ business operations, talent requirements and challenges, and the satisfaction in collaborating with them to arrive at a solution.
Who in your career has been a role model to you?
I do not have a specific role model in my career as I do learn different things from different people. However, one such character whose great insight might have shaped my thoughts and life: Albert Einstein On career advice, one of my past supervisors does give me good advice from time to time whenever I need one.
What is your favourite book?
“The Tipping Point” by Malcolm Gladwell It is about spotting little things/trends which can make a big difference. The learning and insight for me here is never to underestimate small thing, trend, or even small beginning Generally, I like books about leadership and investment
Tell us something people might not know about you/do you have any hidden talents?
I play the classical piano.
