ANDYSMANCLUB WHAT IS ANDYSMANCLUB? ANDYSMANCLUB is a free peer-to-peer group that provides a place for men to come together in a safe and open environment to talk about the issues or problems that they have faced or are currently facing.

WHEN IS IT?

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The process is about bringing men together who have been in similar situations, to help each other on a peer to peer basis, sharing how they have dealt with various situations through lived experiences. No matter how big or small your problem feels, we are here to support each other. The 5 questions that are asked each week are designed not only to encourage men to talk, but to start to focus on the positives and on strategies to keep moving forward. There is no pressure to answer any of the questions and it is not uncommon for men to just listen for the first few sessions. The clubs all run on the same format and adhere to the same guidelines. A key principle of ANDYSMANCLUB is anything that is said in the club, stays within the club.

WHO IS IT FOR? The club is open to any man 18 or over, who is going through a storm, been through a storm or just wants to meet a good group of people with the aim of improving one another.

The Daniel Wilkinson Foundation is a charity set up in memory of Daniel Wilkinson who died in 2016 aged 24, while playing the game he loved, from an underlying heart condition called Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathy (ARVC). Dan played football from an early age and joined Hull City AFC when he was 10, earning a professional contract aged 18. Loughborough University followed where he completed a degree in Accounting and Financial Management while playing non-league football. He was an athlete who enjoyed the gym and took his health and nutrition very seriously. He lived life to the full and had so much ahead of him. Other than feeling light-headed on a few occasions in the month before he died, he had no symptoms!

SUDDEN CARDIAC DEATH IN THE YOUNG (SCD) SCD is the leading cause of death in young athletes during sport and the majority of deaths occur with NO SYMPTOMS or family history. ARVC can be found in one in every 1,000 to 5,000 young adults - IF IT IS LOOKED FOR. Warning signs may include light-headedness, fainting, palpitations, swollen legs, breathlessness.

OUR MISSION The Daniel Wilkinson Foundation has been set up to raise awareness of SCD and to provide funding towards heart screening, defibrillators and CPR/defibrillator training primarily for grass-roots sporting teams. Tragedies can be prevented through cardiac screening. It is vital that young people are identified and treated.

Vill Powell’s Sheffield FC produced a never-say-die performance at Newton Aycliffe on Saturday, as they came from 20 down with three minutes to go, to rescue a point at a windswept Moore Lane against the promotion hopefuls. It was a game that was dominated by a gale-force wind, with Newton having the 50mph breeze at their backs in the first half, however Club managed the conditions resolutely stemming just about everything the hosts threw at them. ILKESTON TOWN 0 SHEFFIELD FC 9 Sheffield FC’s Women had a wasted journey on Sunday afternoon, as they headed to Ilkeston Town, scored NINE goals in 40 minutes and came home with nothing. Why? Sad to say Ilkeston’s fortunes are at an all-time low, and started the game with just EIGHT players, three of which were carrying injuries. It goes without saying that this was oneway traffic from the off, with Ilkeston setting up with an offside line literally on halfway, giving Sheffield the frustrating task of having to time every run to perfection. Club took the lead on 6 minutes, Tilly Hallas-Potts with a lovely turn on the edge of the area to then poke one through to Stacey Buxton, who finished first time into the top corner. Three minutes later it was two, Jacey Haynes with a good ball into the box and Hallas-Potts tapping the ball in, with a third coming on 17 minutes as Brooke Smith’s offside beating through ball allowing Lucy Cook to take it on and finish with ease. 21 minutes gone and it was 4-0, Haynes with another assist following a run down the left, squaring for Buxton to tap in her second. Two minutes later and 5-0, a mirror image of the fourth with Cook bursting down the line, passing the ball into the box for Hallas-Potts to get her second. The sixth came on the half hour mark, Buxton repaying Haynes with an assist, the winger breaking through to go one on one with the keeper Emily Edmonds to slot it away. On 35 minutes Lucy Cook got her second, a solo run from the halfway line, again making it look easy for Sheffield’s seventh. With the restarts becoming increasingly laborious for the hosts it was a matter of time before the white flag went up, Club
