Welcome I am delighted to tell you about our new season, which includes two world premières on the Crucible stage. However, my excitement is also tinged with sadness, as this will mark my final season in Sheffield.

In September, D.H. Lawrence’s classic novel, Lady Chatterley’s Lover takes to the Crucible stage in a poignant adaption by Phillip Breen. Meanwhile in the Studio, we bring you Operation Crucible, the acclaimed story set during the Sheffield Blitz.

I’m thrilled to announce that Irving Berlin’s sensational musical, Annie Get Your Gun, will ignite the Crucible stage this Christmas – a perfect production for the whole family.

Finally, we bring a brand new musical to the Crucible stage.

Everybody’s Talking About Jamie is written by Dan Gillespie Sells (lead singer of the group, The Feeling), and writer Tom MacRae. Based on a BBC documentary, this witty and moving script is a coming-of-age story with a twist.

Before signing off, I want to say thank you. Sheffield Theatres is a special place to work and it’s been a pleasure to meet and talk to so many of you during my time here. The next Artistic Director of Sheffield Theatres is so very lucky to have an audience made up of such passionate and warm people.

The Mayor is in a cold sweat. News has reached him of an imminent visit from a government inspector. His fear is wellfounded as he has been somewhat lacking in his official duties: the hospital’s a health hazard, the school’s a war zone, the soldiers don’t have trousers to march in and he never quite got around to finishing his building programme.

The mayor and his bureaucrats need a way to resolve this disastrous situation. When a case of mistaken identity leads to matters spiralling out of control, surely the only reasonable solution is bribery?

Ventoux Fri 3 – Sat 4 June 7.45pm Ventoux is the most fearsome mountain encountered on the Tour de France. It is also the story of Lance Armstrong and Marco Pantani – whose drugfuelled race there in 2000 was the greatest cycling had ever seen.

On non–performance days the Box Office closes at 6.00pm. On Sundays and Bank Holidays the Box Office opens one hour before the show.

Discounts and Concessions Concessions: £2.50 off for Senior Citizens, registered unemployed, disabled, full time students and children under 16.

We can collaborate with you and your school to plan workshops, short visits and pre-show activities to suit your needs. Below are just a couple of examples of how we can tailor your experience.

Project Octagon Sheffield Theatres is looking for male volunteer performers between the ages of 18-35 to take part in an exciting UK wide, theatre project for Summer 2016, working with partners in England, Scotland and Wales.

We are looking to recruit individuals who are dedicated and enthusiastic about taking part in a one-off, large-scale event, which will be directed by an award-winning team. Alongside hundreds of other people, you will be taking part in a performance that will mark a moment in history.

The roles require no previous acting experience, however you will need to be comfortable performing in a public space.

Sheffield Theatres is committed to making your visit as welcoming as possible and provides a wide range of access facilities.

The main entrance to the Crucible, Lyceum and Studio Theatres is on Tudor Square. Visit sheffieldtheatres.co.uk for advice, maps and guides about getting here on foot, by rail, tram, bus, coach, car and taxi.

Impaired mobility We have lower counters in the Box Office and bars in the Crucible, and wheelchair access is provided in all of our venues, including bars, toilets and a Changing Places toilet in the Crucible. Customers who benefit from the assistance of a companion can also claim one free carer seat.

Deaf, deafened and hard of hearing A loop system is available at the Box Office counter and we operate an infra–red system in the auditorium. We also have regular British Sign Language interpreted and captioned performances. All Studio captioned performances use handheld tablets.

Visually impaired We have regular Audio Described performances and a number of these are preceded by guided Touch Tours of the production, which are highlighted on individual show pages.

Guide dogs Guide dogs and support dogs are welcome in public areas of the theatre, including the auditorium during the show.

Alternatively we are able to take care of them during the performance by prior arrangement through the box office.
