SheepMaster™ May Newsletter 2022

Newsletter May 2022 Why are we using an Australian White? Today in Australia all shedding sheep are basically crossbred animals with the rst shedders only arriving in Australia about 30 years ago. Therefore, our aim is to breed the best animal we can for Australian conditions and market requirements. We are not so arrogant as to believe we have the perfect product and, within our philosophy of continual improvement, we will always be open to trialling outside infusions that may potentially o er virtues across all shedding breeds. There is a 1 in 5 chance of success from outside introductions, part of the risk and responsibility of the Parent Stud.

SheepMaster Gold Standard Sire

As the parent stud for SheepMaster it is our responsibility to our breeders to constantly strive to improve our production and fertility. SheepMaster is not locked into a breed society or pedigree. Rather, we recognise the need to breed a clean shedding, easily managed, highly fertile, maternal ewe that is functional across all Australian conditions, that will rear a lamb of a type that the market requires. The SheepMaster aim is to maximise producer pro tability through both increased gross margins and reduced, direct costs.
