Andrew Hodgson, Elders Stud Stock, Western Australia and Neil Garnett, SM Founding Breeder, completed a challenging and busy road trip from Adelaide, South Australia to Kingaroy in QLD traveling 8,000 kms over 22 days. They met with Sheep Breeders, Stock Agents and hundreds of sheep industry people, describing the trip as a once in a life time experience. The country could not look better, which is setting up the season for another record year. The general lack of stock in the paddocks as the livestock industry re builds after the drought was very notable.

Shedding Sheep Australia Accreditation and Certi cation At the SheepMaster Annual General Meeting, held at Wild Oat Stud, it was agreed that 10 to 15 Accredited Sheepmaster Studs would be invited to join the Accredited National SheepMaster Stud Breeding Program [NSSBs]. Members of this group will adopt Certi cation of all Stud rams and ewes. This will set SheepMaster branded stud animals apart from other shedding breeds

SheepMaster conducted three Open Days which was a was a great opportunity for breeders to inspect SheepMaster sheep, often for the rst time.

Our focus is on Quality, not Pedigree

The most common question to Andrew and Neil: How best to transition from wool to shedding sheep?

SheepMaster™ Ram Sales 2022

The mood for change is not yet fully understood by industry leaders, who are resisting this change from the grass roots producers. Spending an afternoon with Graham and James Gilmore at Tattykeel Australian Whites, was very productive for all concerned The trip con rmed that the sheep industry is going though one of the largest changes in its structure in 100 years. Shedding Sheep Australia P/L (SSA) and Sheepmaster are very pleased to be playing a major role at this exciting time in the industry. Andrew and Neil thank breeders and Elders for their hospitality and support during the long journey across the country
