Chocolate Milk for the Campers’ Soul by Adia Saliha Everybody loves chocolate milk, well at least at YES camp! For young and old people, it brings lots of memories. At camp, it’s the hottest thing. Like not getting chocolate milk after waiting in the lunch line could ruin your day like a pig not rolling in the mud.

The kids who do get their milk, there is something about them being happy. For campers who don’t get chocolate milk on any given day are cramped up in their own mind. For example, campers sharing boogers on each other when they want attention.

Or becoming the unexpected diva by bursting out their shell, whining and crying tantrums and bossing others around.

To all my happy go chocolate milk lovers thanks for keeping the peace. Like returning camper Destiny Moore shared that she enjoys “making new friends, Kulula and hip hop dancing at camp.” New camper, Hannah De’anzizu thinks camp is “fun because I’m making new friends and I like theater drama.”

Camp reporter, Hannah De’anzizu interviewed Anaiaya Ealy who “thinks camp teaches me about life. I get to meet people from different cultures. I enjoy arts and crafts because I get to learn how to make new things.”

Biscayne National Park: Build a Park Activity reviews University of Miami—campers enjoyed a fun filled morning with Ranger Maria from Biscayne National Park.

The campers had an opportunity learn about the park with an opportunity to make a mini-park in small groups.

“We had a lot of fun making our national park and looking at everyone else’s park. We got a lot of glue on ourselves,” said Beatrice Palacios. Maniyah Wright interviewed Layoy Eiflaar who expressed that “it was very cool. [There] was a park with an ocean and jungle.”
