Teen Talk Radio with Jill Tracey Summer Internship Highlights 2017 Fifteen interns produced a visual podcast under the guidance of Jill Tracey, Hot Talk Radio on Hot 105. Filming with Florida Film House Five interns produced a poetry visual album for their “Our Voice Matters” photo book companion. The film was written, directed, produced, performed and edited by the interns. The film focuses on the impact of youth violence from a teen perspective. This film in addition to more films produced by them and interns from FACE, a youth employment program will be screened on Friday, December 8th from 3-6pm at Cambridge Innovation Center.
Music Recording with PATH to Hip Hop Fifteen interns wrote, produced and recorded two original collaborative tracks as part of their “Our Voice Matters” EP to be released during Soul Basel on Saturday, December 9th at Ward Rooming House. Photography with Passion
Fifteen interns learned the art of photography with Passion Ward. Their portrait photography will be exhibited during Soul Basel to run from December 7 - end of February 2018.

Film Screening Premiere “Our Stories Matter” Free Family Day
Filming with Institute of Contemporary Art Our new partnership site at YWCA proved meaningful and fun with community partner Institute of Contemporary Art. Institute of Contemporary Art has shared the art of filmmaking for 6 weeks. Participants have learned about the process of making a short documentary film by weaving their personal narratives in “Our Stories Matter”. They researched notable short documentaries from the Caribbean Film

Academic Support with Miss Gail
Participants are having fun learning from the lovely and enthusiastic Miss Gail. At Edison Park K-8 Center, participants are engaging in oral reading practice in preparation for their tea and talk coming up in December. They are working on their presentations about themselves to present as well. At the YWCA, participants are learning tools to help them navigate their learning process while creating goals for higher education and career pursuits. At Edison high school, participants are building their hard employability skills in preparation for their portfolio to submit for summer internship eligibility.

RITES OF PASSAGE The Rites of Passage Youth Media Project is a trans-media edutainment (education+entertainment) arts enrichment program for middle and high school youth that teaches youth to critically examine, research and reflect on issues that affect their lives and communities using video, photography, poetry, and performance. Youth artistic works are celebrated throughout the year and expo events open to friends, families, and community.

When you stop obsessing over your ex’s social media, you know you’re over them. Let them go. As far as selfies go, check your camera phone settings to make sure your location is turned off and other apps. Instagram added photo maps to their app, which means every photo taken adds a geo tag location to where you are when taking the photo when connected to Wi-Fi. The photo map feature is optional and can be turned off in the app settings. Geo tagging informs cyber predators and stalkers to track your location like the show “Eye Candy.” Stalking is a crime of power and control that includes: • Monitoring calls, texts, social media • Research your public records • Follow you and show up at your home, work, school and where ever you go • Follow geo-tagged photos • 1 in 4 victims report being stalked through social media • 3 in 4 stalking victims are stalked by someone they know Remove your ex from your social media feed, unfriend and block them from all your accounts.
