Member Forum

No ticket holders will be staying on Kohler grounds, that means these people visiting us during this event are staying in hotels/motels and residences in surrounding areas.

There are less golfers this time around, so the gates will be closed by 6:00 pm or 6:45 pm each evening. This means that ticket holders will have their evenings to shop, eat and explore the area.

Participating businesses will be listed online at rydercup.com with a link (if applicable) back to their business website. This is a huge (free) advantage.

Participating businesses will also be listed on the vendor app, so all vendors and volunteers will have easy access to find participating businesses right from their phone. This would be for anyone with tickets to Ryder Cup and anyone with vendor or volunteer credentials.

This summer we will embark on a strategic planning journey to map out our next three years and we need to hear from YOU! On July 14th, we will host a member forum from 9:00-11:00 am at the UW Green Bay, Sheboygan Campus. We hope to learn more about what we are doing well, areas we can improve and new opportunities we can bring to the Sheboygan County Chamber of Commerce. We are also thrilled to offer a number of professional development opportunities. We will welcome John Donovan, President of CloverNord Management Consulting for a Focal Point on July 21st. John is going to talk with us about “Developing Modern Leaders” and the importance of adding modern competencies to your portfolio. It has been a long year, but we are excited to bring back our Executive Series on July 22nd and hear from Mike Molepske, CEO of Bank First as he shares with us his personal journey of becoming a CEO over a beautiful breakfast at Pine Hills.

Community Guides are now available! We have begun distribution of community guides, but if you are eager for your copy, would like a box to have onsite in your workplace or extra copies to share with your customers let us know and we will get them to you. You are also welcome to visit us at the Chamber office and pick them up. This year a County map is included as the centerfold of this publication to help show off all the wonderful communities that make Sheboygan County a great place to work, live and play.

Lastly, as we are enjoying this beautiful Sheboygan County summer, we encourage you to get out there and support your fellow chamber members. Each year Chamber leadership is invited on a team building journey with Chamber staff, Committee leadership, Ambassadors and our Board of Directors. This is a great way to increase cross sectional leadership, build relationships, foster new ideas and get to know our County more thoroughly. We will be exploring Plymouth in August as a group. If you are looking for ways to get involved, we have a number of opportunities available and I encourage you to share your interest. Molly, Coastal YPN Liaison Happy July! We are so excited to welcome the warm weather and outdoor events to Coastal YPN and our Better Together Intern and Co-op Program! We’ve had a wonderful June filled with lots of events for our Coastal Young Professionals and our Interns and Coops.

On June 8th, we kicked off the Summer programming intertwined with the interns and coops with the participating companies. We had a kick off event at the Elks Lodge where we had almost 100 interns and co-ops join us for bowling, mingling and checking out some booths from local businesses. We also had our Coastal YPN Welcome and Social event that welcomed new members into the young professional’s network and had many of our interns and co-ops join us. 3 Sheeps Brewing Company was a great host and we are very happy to say this event had the most attendance we have seen in a couple years.

Our programming for this Summer will continue with our interns and co-ops joining us for pop-up events happening every week. If you are not subscribed to our texting notifications, please check out the flyer below to make sure you can attend our pop-up events. We notify the network through our texting campaign about where our pop-ups will be and how you can participate. Really looking forward to the rest of this month and finishing this Summer program strong!

News from THE DIRECTOR OF MEMBERSHIP DEVELOPMENT Ahh…the weather is absolutely beautiful! Welcome to July of 2021!

I hope everyone has taken the opportunity to enjoy this early, warm, and toasty weather we only experience during the summer. With this warm weather comes many activities throughout our county, and one of my favorite activities is golf! And speaking of golf, registration is now open. Mark your calendars for Wednesday, September 8th for our Annual Chamber Golf outing in beautiful Elkhart Lake at the Quit Qui Oc Golf Club & Restaurant!

We’ll have the golf ball launcher back and ready to go, the hole sponsors I’m sure will have something up their sleeves when it comes to fun and games, and yes, the weather will be so much better than the past couple of years! It’s always a great time so don’t be left in the sand trap, get out and swing the sticks!

• Roundtables are a terrific way to meet others within your business sector. Whether it’s Human Resources, Sales & Marketing, Not for Profit, and others, you’re sure to learn something from your peers. These peer-to-peer networking groups can help any one of your employees, or yourself, accelerate your learning curve, and minimize potential setbacks within your organization. • Our Young Professionals network goal is to attract, engage and retain young, diverse talent to Sheboygan County by providing opportunities for young professionals to design their social culture, serve as civic innovators and community stewards, and develop into the next generation of leaders for Sheboygan County. Recommended Roundtable Revisions Why change what works? Because revisions will make the roundtables even better! With COVID-19 in our rear-view mirror we can return to normal. Normal will mean either in-person roundtables or virtual roundtables – no hybrids! This will begin in July since the 2 roundtables [Strategic Sourcing on the 8th and Worksite Wellness on the 14th] are already scheduled to occur, virtually.

You should be receiving numerous invitations/reminders about the roundtables of interest to you so registration should be simple. Use your Chamber Master account for registering. Registration is mandatory. If the roundtable will be virtual, you will receive the necessary link both when you register and when you get the reminder email 2 days before the roundtable will occur. A registration confirmation and reminder also applies to the in-person roundtables but you must register. If you register, and you then have a reason to not participate, let John know and you will receive the notes. No shows will not get the roundtable notes anymore.

Leadership Sheboygan County Registration Closes August 2nd, 2021 What is Leadership Sheboygan County?

Now accepting applications for Leadership Sheboygan County 2021-2022 Class.

Leadership Sheboygan County is designed for current and emerging leaders with the capacity to make a positive impact in the community.

The program brings together a diverse group of professionals from financial services, education, manufacturing, healthcare, the arts, community organizations, government and other sectors.

Participants acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to be more effective as leaders in their organizations and the community. The class only accepts 30 attendees and applications are due August 2nd, 2021 (don’t wait, class fills up quickly)! Click HERE to learn more about LSC and to fill out the application.

Leadership Sheboygan County is the ideal program to: • Understand the community as a system • Deepen your connection to other community leaders • Broaden your knowledge of the community • Strengthen your leadership skills • Explore the diversity of leadership styles • Appreciate why Sheboygan County is Someplace Better The community is our classroom. To experience the greatest benefit, you need to make a commitment of nine full-day sessions beginning in August through April and May’s Graduation Day. After the kick-off event in August, sessions are held the third Thursday of each month. You will join other participants and work on a separate community project designed to raise awareness of an issue, improve team skills and affect change.
