Every year, SFIC gives the gift of education to over 1,600 students from low-income families in Bergen, Essex, Hudson, and Union counties.

The recipients of our needs-based, partial tuition scholarships attend private and parochial schools that do a fantastic job of giving them an education that fosters their unique strengths as individuals.

Due to the current public health crisis of COVID-19, we are currently facing a serious threat to the success of our mission for the upcoming school year.

Currently, every school served by SFIC is closed, taking children away from valuable classroom time. Moreover, with local businesses closing, many of the hard-working families we serve are out of work and being placed in harsh financial positions.

We hope that in you we can find a partner to ensure the continued education of these children once they return to the classroom and to ease the financial stress of families currently out of work because of this public health crisis. To that extent, we have created a GoFundMe campaign to begin to cover the funding gap we need to continue giving the gift of education to the children that need it most.

The US Army Corps of Engineers is seeking vendors with the ability to perform or supply items 1, 2 and 3 below are requested to send capabilities statements to our dedicated COVID-19 Contracting mailbox: COVIDContracting@usace.army.mil.

1. "Build-out" or retrofit of existing space (arenas, convention centers, dormitories, hotels, or other facilities) into alternate care facilities

2. Field Medical Units

3. Temporary Medical Enclosures

Please Note: Decisions regarding use of hotels, arenas and similar facilities are made at the State level. If you are offering these types of facilities, please contact the applicable State. Click here for a FEMA website that provides points of contact for each State.

Vendors of other supplies and services are welcome to submit capability or interest statements regarding support of the USACE COVID-19 Response.
