ANGELIC FAMILY HOSPICE It is with great pleasure that we accept the 2018 Reader’s Choice Award. My wife and I established Angelic Family Hospice 18 years ago with two goals in mind. The first is to provide our patients with a hospice experience that is second to none through hard work, dignity, and comfort. The second is to provide our employees a workplace they deserve through the values of respect and gratitude.

At the same time we established our Angelic Family Hospice Helping Hands foundation 501(C)3 not for profit organization. Walker Funeral Service has remained a family business for over 70 years. Walker first opened in 1939 as Thorton Funeral Home. Later, it was purchased by the Roesch family, renamed Roesch Funeral Chapel, and in 1951 moved to 400 N. Broadway. The Roesch family operated the chapel until 1971, when it was purchased by the Walker family, and renamed Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel. In the mid-90’s the Walkers realized they were out-growing their location.

So, they began to make plans to build a new funeral home.
