Senior Chief SOCS Michael Allen ret. (left), Ron Wiersema and Jim Prombo of the Morrison American Legion stand in honor as American flags are retired Sunday, Sep. 26, in Morrison. Flags that are worn and faded are considered to have served their duty and can be honorably burned. The legion retired 307 flags on Sunday. The legion also handed out a special award to Ken Brainerd for a display of flags on Crosby Road in Morrison. See page 5.
