CHILI TURNOUT

Sarah Ford for Shaw Media

White Oaks Therapeutic Equestrian Center (WHOA) held a drive-through community appreciation chili supper on Oct. 29, with homecooked chili, cinnamon rolls provided by Harvest Bakery of Erie, hot apple cider, and hot chocolate. Program Director Tawny Wiersema said she made an extra roaster of chili this year due to the unexpected turnout last year, but they still ran out after an hour and a half. The meals were free but donations to the non-profit were accepted. Pictured taking an order from Irvin and Barbara Prins of Morrison are Josh and Allie Thiessen, along with their 7-week old daughter Avery, who was bundled up and napping in her stroller.
