To bee or not to bee

Tonica Grade School sixth-grader Phillip Gray performed admirably through a tough six rounds of Saturday’s LaSalle, Marshall & Putnam Counties Regional Spelling Bee before making a mistake in the seventh after being given the word “gordita.” Several other food-related words were on the competition’s word list including, orange, clementine, praline, bratwurst, fennel, quesadilla, salami, molé, tortoni and ravioli.
