STERLING – Hospice of the Rock River Valley is kicking off a fundraising drive to build a $3.5 million hospice home on land donated by retired businessman Richard Prescott. HRRV plans to move all of its hospice services from 264 state Route 2 to the new site
on the northeast side of Avenue E, across from Good Neighbor Care in Sterling. The new 14,000-square-foot building will offer an in-patient unit alternative to families needing 24-hour care and support. The clinical wing will have six patient suites, a nursing station, a meditation room, and family areas with sleeping and dining accommodations. HOSPICE CONTINUED ON A4

Since Albrecht’s departure, Giana Bonneur, who was hired in April as Main Street’s events and marketing coordinator, has assumed some of Albrecht’s responsibilities with some board members assisting as well. DIXON – The trial of a Dixon man accused of murdering his wife has been postponed for a third time. During a brief hearing Monday in Lee County Court, the Feb. 26 trial date for Brian C. Sigler was canceled; no new date was set. In its place, the judge will hear motions that originally were set to be heard Monday.
