With severe weather looming, it is always a good time to make sure you have a plan for bad weather. Test batteries, ensure that your meds are filled regularly and that you have some water to take them with. It is always a good idea to have a weather radio on hand for weather notifications!
April is National Volunteer Month.
They are always willing to help with the food pantry, special events, Vets Coffee, stuffing envelopes, and more. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to our WONDERFUL volunteers for everything you do!!
SCAM ARTISTS ARE ALWAYS ON THE
PROWL! Remember, social security, the DMV, and Medicare/Medicaid will NEVER call you for information over the phone! If you are ever unsure whether a call in legit, please hang up and call your local police department to verify!
In the event that the Senior Center or Public Transportation needs to close or have a delay, we will put a Facebook post on both pages as well as a recording on our phone machine. Please keep in mind this decision is never easy, but we have to keep our members and staff safe! If you have any questions or concerns, please call 815-622-9230!

Employee of the Month
April is National Volunteer Month, so we are choosing to honor all of our WONDERFUL volunteers who give countless hours of service to our Center each month. Without the
porting a great cause.
The Adult Prom will feature the crowning of a King and Queen, and nominations are open now for King and Queen, and will be accepted throughout the month. Community members can submit nominations, and voting will take place at the event through monetary donations, with proceeds benefiting programs and services at the Lee County Council on Aging.
Tickets for the event are available now! Guests can purchase them in advance for $10 at the Lee County Council on Aging (weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.) or from any Board member. Tickets will also be available at the door for $15.
This is a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together, have fun, and support our seniors. We encourage everyone to participate, whether by nominating someone for King or Queen, attending the event, or simply voting to support their favorite nominee.
Silent auction of gift baskets
Bid on a variety of beautifully crafted gift baskets while enjoying the evening. All proceeds support senior programs and services. Don’t miss this unforgettable night of dancing, laughter, and celebration!
For more information about the event or to submit a nomination, contact the Lee County Council on Aging at 815-288-9236 or stop by during business hours.
Don’t miss this chance to dance the night away and celebrate with friends, both old and new!
