October at LCCOA: Let’s make the most of It! As October rolls in with cool mornings and golden trees, we find ourselves embracing both the season of change — and the spirit of giving.

If you haven’t made your appointment with our office yet, now is the time. Our SHIP-certified counselors are trained to help you sort through the many options and find the plan that best suits your health

Board meeting We want to thank everyone on our Board of Directors! All of the members on our board are volunteers who take time out of their busy schedules to help better our Senior Center and

To expand access, we’re also offering local library hours this month for residents of Paw Paw, Ashton, and Franklin Grove. Call us to request an appointment in your town, and we’ll bring the resources to you. We will also have evening hours in our Dixon location.

Staying warm and healthy To keep homes warmer and energy bills lower, we are offering free energy-saving supplies throughout October. Door sweeps, weather strips, window insulation kits, and energy-efficient light bulbs are available — just ask the receptionist when you stop by.

And don’t forget our flu shot clinic on Sept. 30 from 1-4 p.m.. It’s a perfect opportunity to protect yourself ahead of the colder months.

Fun and fellowship It’s not all paperwork and policies — we’ve got plenty of fun planned, too!

• Music video bingo debuts Friday, Oct. 17 at 10 a.m. — a lively mix of classic tunes and Bingo luck.

• Wheel of Fortune has been moved to Thursday, October 31, at 11 a.m.

We’re seeking affordable gifts for moms, dads, grandparents, teens, and siblings, as well as tape, tags, and stocking stuffers. We hope to have the Key Club back on board to help as Elves. This group is growing and has really become a large event! This yoga class accommodates all levels of balance, intensity, and range of motion. The Center can provide a yoga mat and chair if you do not have your own. See you there!
