Deetz & Licocci Married July 2, 2016, in Sterling Sue and Tom Licocci were united in marriage at 2 p.m. July 2, 2016, at Blue Goose Run in Sterling. The Rev. Vicki Sauter, pastor, officiated the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Marvin and Lois Deetz of Rock Falls and Carol Clark of Monroe, Wisconsin. The bride’s biological mother also was in attendance. The groom is the son of Tony and Betty Licocci of Rock Falls. The bride was given in marriage by her father, Marvin Deetz. It was a beautiful day full of love and great memories with our families and friends. The “Best Day Ever” was celebrated with about 150 in attendance. The maid of honor was Cheryl Strauch, best friend of the bride since third grade. Her words: “It’s never too late to live happily ever after!”

Serving as bridesmaids were Peggy Mosher and Connie Branson, great friends of the bride. The best man was Jeff Henson, brother-in-law of the groom. Serving as groomsmen were Jeff Wescott and Ron Terrock, great friends of the groom. Ushering the event were Brodie Bruns and Scott Bruns, sons of the bride; and Anthony Licocci and Dominic Licocci, sons of the groom. The bride is self-employed as a caregiver and cleaning business. The groom is owner and operator of T.A. Licocci Construction of Rock Falls. The reception also was at Blue Goose Run, with Mama Cimino’s of Dixon catering the event. The couple plan a Caribbean honeymoon in January 2017. The couple reside in Rock Falls.

Johnson & Latta Married Oct. 22, 2016 Port Townsend, Washington Annalise Rose Johnson, the daughter of Thom and Linda Johnson of Port Townsend, Washington, married Jeffrey Bartley Latta, the son of Tom and Rose Ann Latta of Amboy, on Oct. 22, 2016, at Maritime Center in Port Townsend. Travis and Vanessa Tompkins officiated the ceremony. The maid of honor was Brittany Johnson, sister of the bride. The best man was Mark Latta, brother of the groom. The bridesmaids were Jordyn, Ashlie, and Kamdyn Latta, daughters of the groom. The groomsmen were Tim Latta, brother of the groom, and Aaron

Johnson, brother of the bride. The flower girl was Adisyn Latta, niece of the groom, and the ring bearer was Isaac Latta, nephew of the groom. The reception was at Maritime Center. The bride is a reading specialist teacher at Sister Mary Magdalen Grade School in Everett, Washington. The groom is a graduate of Amboy High School, and is employed as dean of students at Archbishop Murphy High School in Everett. The couple will honeymoon in Hawaii, and make their home in Everett.

Dr. Joseph “Joe” T. Lowry DVM and Judith “Judy” E. (Miller) Lowry will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Dec. 26, 2016. They were married Dec. 26, 1966, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Dixon. Joe grew up in Pittsfield, the eldest son of Ed and Mariam Lowry, and Judy grew up in Harmon, Dixon, and Polo, the eldest daughter of Don and Ruth Miller.

Joe is a graduate of the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine, and the two made their home and raised their three children (Jolene, Jill, and Tom) in Davis Junction. Joe continues to be active in his solo practice, and Judy continues to work as a hairdresser in Rockford. Judy enjoys riding and showing her Saddlebred horse, and both contin-

ue to show Hackney and Shetland ponies, which they raise and train, at fairs throughout the Midwest. They especially enjoy visits with their children and two grandsons (Stone, 7, and Cash, 2). The family will celebrate by renting a beach house in Florida in March to relax together and take in some St. Louis Cardinals’ spring training baseball games.

Share those special memories with Celebrations Celebrations features weddings, engagements, anniversaries, and other happy news, such as birthdays, reunions, and fouror five-generation photos. As a special way to preserve these memorable occasions, quarter-, halfor full-page announcements can be purchased. Paid announcements are determined by word count: no more than 125 words for a quarter page, no more than 250 words for a half page, and up to 340 words for a full page. Those paying for announcements will have the opportunity to proof them before publication. Customers will be called when the announcement is ready to be proofed. At that time, any corrections or additions can be made as needed at SVM’s Dixon and Sterling offices. For convenience, proofs will be emailed without calls whenever possible. Photos may be submitted in color or black and white, and in any size. Emailed photos should be in JPEG format with a resolution of 200 and a width of at least 5 inches for best quality. All announcements can be printed without photos if desired. Celebration forms are available at the Telegraph and Daily Gazette classified departments or by email. Sauk Valley Media is not responsible for errors due to unreadable information. A daytime phone number and email address (if available) are requested to help to ensure accuracy. Weddings are available in basic (free) form (one photo only of the couple), quarter-page paid (one photo), half-page paid (two photos), and fullpage paid (up to four photos).

The wedding form should be returned preferably within 2 to 4 months after the wedding date. Engagements are available in basic (free) form (one photo of the couple), two styles of quarter-page paid (one photo only), half-page paid (two photos), and full-page paid (up to four photos). Anniversary announcements are available in the basic (free) form (one current photo only of the couple), quarter-page paid (one or two photos), half-page paid (two photos), and full-page paid (up to four photos). Announcements beginning with the 25th anniversary, and then in 5-year increments up to 60 years, can be at no charge. Other increments will require a paid announcement. Anniversaries from 61 to 69 can be published in the free format without the 5-year increment restriction. Special wording will require a paid announcement. Anniversaries of 70 years and more are at no charge in a paid format; the announcement size will be determined by the editor. Birthday announcements for area seniors 80 years of age and older can be at no charge without special wording. There is a charge for those younger than 80. The basic (free) form (one current photo of the individual), quarter-page paid (one or two photos), half-page paid (two photos), and full-page paid (up to four photos) are available. For 100th and older birthdays, SVM will publish free announcements in a paid format; the announcement size will be determined by the editor.

Reunions are for area residents who are gathering, or have gathered, for a family or class reunion. Reunion items will be edited due to space limitations, and lists of all those attending are not available in the free format. Photos also are not available for a free announcement, but can be used in any of the paid announcements. If a large group photo is submitted, only one can be used in the quarterpage format, one photo is recommended in the half-page format, and up to four normally can be used in the full-page format. Large group photos with long lists of names may require at least a half-page paid announcement. Note: A group photo for a class reunion only can be submitted at no charge for the Scrapbook page of SV Weekend by email to photos@ saukvalley.com or in person. For publication in Celebrations, class reunions of 70 years and more will be available in the quarterpage format at no charge, with a photo allowed. Five-generation and four-generation photos with names, relationships, and places of residence of those pictured may be submitted for publication. Multiple photos from the same submitter will need to be on a paid basis. Generation announcements are, of course, available on a paid (custom) basis in quarterpage (one photo), halfpage (two photos), and full-page (up to four photos) form. Other celebrations include retirements, promotions, awards, honors,

baptisms, confirmations, baby’s arrival (able to contain more information than standard birth announcements, along with a photo), and other occasions. Customers may purchase a quarterpage (one photo – two if

An open house was Dec. 17, 2016, to celebrate the 50th wedding anniversary of the Revs. Bonnie F. and David W. Davies Jr. of Savanna The event was at Savanna First United Methodist Church. The couple were first married on Dec. 17, 1966, at Warren Park Presbyterian Church. Both were employed as teachers at the time. Bonnie became a full-time United

Methodist pastor in 1988. David retired from teaching and became a full-time pastor. Bonnie retired from ministry in 2014, and David in 2015. They share three children, Owen of Moline; Margaret (Roger) of Lancaster, Wisconsin; and Elyssa (James) of Mountain Home, Idaho. They have six grandchildren.

Mary Casillas of Rock Falls will celebrate her 90th birthday Dec. 26, 2016. She was born in 1926, in Sterling. She has been married to Daniel Casillas for 69 years. She attended St. Mary School, lived on Gleason Street, and is a member of St. Andrew Parish.

She presently lives in Rock Falls. They had 12 children, 18 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. She is a housewife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Cards may be sent to 1504 Flock Ave., Rock Falls, IL 61071. The omission of gifts has been requested.

Ruth D. Hartman of Chadwick will celebrate her 90th birthday with an open house from 3 to 5 p.m. Dec. 28, 2016, at First Lutheran Church in Chadwick. Carol (Walt, deceased) Wood. Ruth has 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren (one deceased). Ruth helped work the family farm for 46 years.
