Devers & Brown Amber Marie Devers and Justin Lee Brown were married Sept. 17, 2016, at Long Bridge Golf Course in Springfield. Mike Brown, father of the groom, officiated the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mike and Paula Devers of Rock Falls. The groom is the son of Mike and Melissa Brown of Springfield. Serving as the maid of honor was Ashley Devers, cousin of the bride. Serving as the best man was Isaiah Brown, brother of the groom. Bridesmaids were Jessica Vanderwal and Heather Koehn, both cousins of the groom, Brianna Richardson, cousin of the bride, and Danyelle Ehredt, friend of the bride. Junior bridesmaid was Josie Brown, cousin of the groom. The groomsmen were Eric Vanderwal, cousin of the groom, Doug Devers, brother of the bride, and Scott Weakley and Kyle Hessenauer, both friends of the groom. Junior groomsman was Noah Brown, cousin of the groom.

Ushering the event was Tyler Johnson and Dave Koehn, both related to the groom. Flower girl was Macey Koehn, and the ring bearers were Cooper Koehn and Dominic Vanderwal, all cousins of the groom. The reception was at Long Bridge Golf Course. The bride is a 2009 graduate of Rock Falls High School and received her associate degree in nursing from Lincoln Land Community College. She is employed at Memorial Hospital and serves in the Army National Guard, both in Springfield. The groom is a 2006 graduate of Rochester High School and received his Associate of Arts degree from the University of Phoenix. He is employed at the Army National Guard in Springfield. The couple went on a family vacation in July of this year to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, and reside in Springfield.

Jillian April Popadak, the daughter of William and Mary Popadak of Erie, Pennsylvania, was married Aug. 6, 2016, to Matthew Robert Grennan, the son of Eric and Donna Grennan of Dixon, at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Erie. The couple met in Philadelphia, and Matt proposed in 2014 in St. Lucia. Mrs. Grennan is a graduate of McDowell High School and is a professor of finance at Duke University’s Fuqua School. Mr. Grennan is a graduate of Dixon High School and is a professor of health care management at University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School. Following the ceremony, a reception was at the Sheraton on the Bayfront in Erie. The couple honeymooned in the Greek Islands and plan to reside in Philadelphia.

As a special way to preserve these memorable occasions, quarter-, half- or full-page announcements can be purchased. Paid announcements are determined by word count: no more than 125 words for a quarter page, no more than 250 words for a half page, and up to 340 words for a full page. Those paying for announcements will have the opportunity to proof them before publication. Customers will be called when the announcement is ready to be proofed. At that time, any corrections or additions can be made as needed at SVM’s Dixon

and Sterling offices. For convenience, proofs will be emailed without calls whenever possible. Photos may be submitted in color or black and white, and in any size. Emailed photos should be in JPEG format with a resolution of 200 and a width of at least 5 inches for best quality. All announcements can be printed without photos if desired. Celebration forms are available at the Telegraph and Daily Gazette classified departments or by email. Sauk Valley Media is not responsible for errors due to unreadable information. A daytime phone number and email address (if available) are requested to help to ensure accuracy. Weddings are available in basic (free) form (one photo only of the couple), quarter-

days, SVM will publish free announcements in a paid format; the announcement size will be determined by the editor. Reunions are for area residents who are gathering, or have gathered, for a family or class reunion. Reunion items will be edited due to space limitations, and lists of all those attending are not available in the free format. Photos also are not available for a free announcement, but can be used in any of the paid announcements. If a large group photo is submitted, only one can be used in the quarterpage format, one photo is recommended in the halfpage format, and up to four normally can be used in the full-page format. Large group photos with long

lists of names may require at least a half-page paid announcement. Note: A group photo for a class reunion only can be submitted at no charge for the Scrapbook page of SV Weekend by email to photos@saukvalley.com or in person. For publication in Celebrations, class reunions of 70 years and more will be available in the quarterpage format at no charge, with a photo allowed.
