Jack retired from Chicago Northwestern Railroad after 40 years. He served 4 years with the U.S. Army during World War II with the 503rd Airborne, seeing combat duty in the Pacific and Philippine Islands. In November, 2010, he was honored to have gone on an Honor
Flight to Washington, District of Columbia. For 22 years, he was a Sterling Fire Department volunteer and an avid golfer. He and his wife, Peggy, have been married for 41 years.
