Visions of flurries are dancing in our heads — here’s a glimpse of the beauty of winter

Hiking, cross-country skiing or simply taking the time to admire the view from your window: There are so many ways to appreciate the coldest months of the year. Photographer Tom Sistak has documented all sorts of winter scenery near Starved Rock State Park, from delicate hoarfrost to stark, snowy fields. What’s your preferred way of experiencing nature during wintertime?
