A large flock of geese enjoy the sunlight Sunday on the bank of the Rock River in Prophetstown. Saturday night’s snowfall deposited several inches of the light, fluffy snow across northern Illinois, marking the first snowfall of 2022. The snow was followed by single-digit temperatures on Sunday night.
