Illinois State Police activity for November
Illinois State Police District 1 Troopers issued 503 citations, 601 written warnings, and made nine criminal arrests during the month of November.
Speeding accounted for 297 citations, 81 citations were issued for occupant restraint violations, and 17 citations were issued for distracted driving violations.
There were 28 arrests for no valid driver’s license or driving while license suspended/ revoked.
Troopers investigated 22 traffic crashes, assisted 79 motorists, and conducted 172 commercial motor vehicle inspections, 28 of which were placed out-of-service for safety reasons. There were 5 arrests for driving while under the influence.
District 1, which encompasses Carroll, Lee, Ogle, and Whiteside counties, investigated 1 fatal traffic crash in November.
CRIME WATCH Oregon man charged w ith possession of child pornography

OREGON – A 43-year-old Oregon man is in Ogle County jail on $250,000 bond, accused of possession of child pornography.
C h a r le s M . C h r i s t e n s e n w a s arrested Dec. 2 and charged with five counts of possession of pornography involving children younger than 13, punishable by three to seven years in prison, and two counts of possession of pornography involving children older than 13, punishable by two to five years, the State Police Division of Criminal Investigation said in a news release Friday.
Christensen was arrested after a search of his home in the 600 block of Timberlane.
Homeland Security, the Ogle and Whiteside County sheriff’s departm e n t s , a nd Or e g o n p o l i c e a r e involved in the investigation, which is ongoing, the release said.
