Temporary rumble strips have been placed on Lowell Park Road leading to the intersection with Pines Road. The Ogle County Highway Department put the strips in place last week hoping to alert northbound and southbound motorists driving on Lowell Park Road that they are to stop at the intersection. Motorists on Pines Road do not have to stop at the intersection, which has seen more than 20 crashes since 2009, several of them serious or fatal. Story on page 3.
